Hi Everyone,

Could anyone out there please test a voice mail function for me?

You are supposed to be able to speed up and slow down playback of a message by pressing either "66" (to speed up) or "44" (to slow it down). The more you press it the more it speeds up or slows down.

It doesn't seem to work for me.

Here's the web page on T-Mobile that states it, it's also mentioned in the help function when you press "0".

I'm embroiled in this battle with tech support where they say it works but it's very subtle! Sorry, but that just doesn't jibe with me. I've used many voice mail systems where you could speed up the playback huge amounts if you want to...and slow it dow...

It works from my phone, tried both my cell phone and a land line. One problem could be that the tones your phone sends are too long; if you press just 4 or 6, the message plays at normal speed. Perhaps the voicemail system thinks you are pressing 4 to play the message at normal speed, then a couple of seconds later that you pressed 4 again to play at the normal speed. Try calling from a land line and press 44 or 66 rapidly and see if that works.
Also, you could try setting the tones on your phone to short instead of long. Hope this helps.

Was the speedup and slowdown something that was obvious? Not just a little bit of a differrence, but something that is actually useful?

I've tried it from my landline and it doesn't work either.

It is definitely obvious. You should be able to tell (especially if you do it more than once).

Allright, I'll give tech support another call.

Anyone care to test it out?

Thanks
