Saint.Patrick said: That is so true and sad...I wonder if Leap Wireless and Metro PCS were to combine forces, could they take over Sprint? I highly doubt it. Both Metro PCS and Leap are too small to acquire a carrier the size of Sprint. At this point, I don't see Sprint being bought out by anyone given the credit crises, etc, who would finance such a takeover?! And with Sprint's current debt, it would be a deal breaker. ...

Re: OS ?
MightyTomahawk said: From what I understand it should be pantech's OS which is very smooth and responsive. Their newer phones have been relatively impressive. They tried the windows mobile experiment and it failed so it'll probably be a while before we see another pantech windows mobile device. :) I had their first windows pantech smartphone and it was just awful. The phone was fun but then it stopped being able to make calls.
This phone rocks!
I just posted my review, 5 stars!

If you cancel within the 30 days you must return your phone, or pay the full retail price to keep it. After ...

This is an old thread
And I left AT&T for Verizon and I am so glad I did.
It is back up online. I do know they are phasing it out once the stock is gone
I see what you are saying, godfather, BUT
You came off as a troll in your strong language. And I really don't see a point in posting this. If AT&T reps feel they are doing everything they can to sell, let them have it. At the end of the day, us customers decide who to sign up with, and for me it is Verizon, and it was T-Mobile, then AT&T, and now I switched to Verizon. It's my choice as a customer, and ...
Rich, the Pantech PN 820 has been discontinued.
It is no longer available from Verizon's site, which was the only place customers could get the phone. I just wanted to let you know so you could update your site. Thanks.
Thank you so much!
This is very helpful and I'll take your advice. I deleted AIM, it eats up RAM anyways, and the extended battery is working well!

Let's all dog pile on the newbie troll!
Re: AT&T v. Verizon Wireless
Does it really matter? I've had both carriers, both are good, but I prefer Verizon in my area. AT&T was decent, and they have great phones, so who cares, honestly I think both carriers are about the same, except I do think Verizon's coverage here in the states is better.
First week with Verizon.
So far I am well pleased. My calls are clear, the coverage is great, except on certain parts of campus (where I had good coverage with AT&T) but I am wondering if I call Verizon and tell them we could use a tower in the middle of campus if they would consider it. Now about the PN 820 phone: I know many of you said this phone is awful but you know, I really like it. My biggest complaint ...
The way you wrote it looks like AT&T is suing Verizon Wireless. Maybe it's the dorky law student in me, but I had a good laugh, and I am sure AT&T has probably sued Verizon at some point over something... 8O (like the fact that they have better coverage?!)
I am a new Verizon customer
And I've called customer service with questions, and they are always so helpful and so polite. I really like them. I used to have T-Mobile, they had good customer service too, but their coverage was blah.
I used to have AT&T
I liked the company, but the call quality is so-so. AT&T has slow data services. Seriously. I've sent myself MMS messages and it sometimes takes hours to get them. Whereas, with Verizon, I get my MMS instantly, and the data speeds are so much faster. But more importantly, Verizon's coverage here is much better and their signal strength is solid. Again, AT&T was decent, but Verizon is certainly an upgrade from AT&T. But this is just my opinion so please ...
I love VZW
It works very well in my area!
Here's one from March 2007
http://www.phonescoop.com/news/item.php?n=210 3 Text: posted Mar 5, 2007, 12:24 PM Alltel Wireless, the nation's fifth-largest mobile operator, has intensified its attempt to sell itself to one of the other major US carriers or simply to new owners. Alltel has recently solicited bids from AT&T, Verizon Wireless and others. Though AT&T has rebuffed Alltel's offer, Verizon is reported to still be considering it. This potential union is more likely since both carriers use CDMA technology, and Verizon has not swallowed up any major operators like ...
Alltel thought about selling itself in Spring 2007

Alltel revealed it was considering a sale in February and since then has been courting offers. Re: AT&T aka Cingular did it in 04...
Anxiovert said: But Cingular bought AT&T in order to create the largest GSM network in the US. Verizon has no need to merge with Alltel. The proof is in all the markets that needed to be divested. It's very clear they're doing it just to become #1 again. They couldn't surpass AT&T by the end of 2007 like they had predicted. Solution: "Let's buy Alltel" Voice in the corner says: "didn't we turn them down when they went for sale ...

Cellenator said: Can't my entire family is with verizon. Why would I leave a great network for an inferior one? you shouldn't read so heavy into ppl statement, i just said their phones suck, and they do! My Nextel phone rules all. peace Verizon does need to get better phones. I did find one I really liked a lot, but it is soon being discontinued.
AT&T aka Cingular did it in 04...
Evilhomer, You really are a bloody troll. AT&T is currently number one in subscribers because when it was Cingular it acquired the old AT&T Wireless and became number one in 2004. Verizon Wireless is now doing the same thing that AT&T did four years go.
Yay!!! We're Number ONE!!!!
I am a new Verizon Wireless customer and I LOVE it! LOVE it, LOVE my service!!! It is far better than I imagined, yay!
Don't waste your time on trolls.
Please stop feeding the egotistical trolls.
