6 in 6 Months, BIG Dissappoinment!

Jul 4, 2006 by cjandavisteiner

Yuck! What a waste of 1/2 a year of my life. I have spent a combine total of 92 hours in a VZW store! I am on my 6th and final RAZR and am giving it back tomorrow.
Their software is beyond slow (was told that their software upgrades would fix it, it hindered more options not helped. Prior to this upgrade I could set a wallpaper as the outside picture till they "fixed" the battery life problem yesterday) I loath the RAZR, the silver and pink (yes I have tried them both) I came from an LGVX4400 & 4600, both hands down beat it out. My hubby got the TREO 650 and really likes it.
CONS:
Short Battery Life
Bogs down easily
Have to go to VZW weekly
Flimsy design top "rocks" sometimes
Bluetooth headset disables from phone constantly
Did I mention a short battery life?
up to 5 seconds to switch screens
PROS:
Cute, fits in a coach bag nicely
Made me take a lunchbreak to stand in Techline at VZW
Had to learn what a "hardstart" was

I would not recommend this phone to anyone I like, and VZW wont even recommend the newest one to me...... Tomorrow I get a LGVX 8300! I quit! I just want a phone that is a phone!

This phone is great

I have this phone on U.S Cellulars network and it is a very great phone!

Pros:
Very Good Signal Strength
Fast and Reliable(not bogged down by the Verizon software)
Sleek design
Very hard to drop
Takes good videos(although they can only be up to 15 seconds long)
Great ringtones and ring volumes( so easy to be able to hear this phone ring, goes very loud)
Inexpensive

there are more but i cant think.....

Cons:
No games
Battery life is only bad when you talk a lot.... if you just leave it idol then the battery life is fine for the day

besides those minor flaws this phone is one of the best U.S Cellular has to offer!

SUCKS!!

This phone completely sucks!! Can't turn the sound off for the key tones, even though it's set to off, you still here the beeping whenever you press a key. And the now the front screen is all orange, can't put a picture there anymore. I've been thru 4 of these stupid phones in the last 3 months cuz of the main screen cracking or it falling apart when accidentally dropped. Stay away from!!

V3C for US Cellular :)

This is a GREAT phone. I've had it since March so I'm over the appearance of it (although it is still a strong PRO) After getting the software update- 04.08.00R- the double date is gone.

Pro's:
- Bluetooth transfer- I can edit MP3's on my computer and transfer them via bluetooth to my phone and swap tones with other Razr users; contacts and pictures can also be exchanged
- Changable external screen
- Battery life- as my only phone, I charge it every other day or so (usually 2.5 days)
- mini USB charger instead of "traditional" Motorola charger
- Surprisingly durable (yes, I have unfortunately dropped it a couple times face down on the cement)
- Sleek size; as a female, I can put it in my pocket without it being a pain in the butt (literally)

Cons
- Ringer ID indicates text from that person as well as a call which can become annoying.
- Slightly concerned that the key pad outline will wear into the screen

It's CRAP

This phone is a joke. It is all locked up by the greedy provider. Has no functions at all what so ever what a RAZR should be. It may look like one but not its menu. Its all operated by the slow VZW UI.
You can not set up an alarm on the phone not until midnight if you would like to wake up at 6AM.
Constantly freezing and booting up.
Outside LCD is ORNANGE. It's Halloween with them 365 DAYS A YEAR!
I am leaving VZW and yes because of their poor phones selection. They have nothing to offer when it come to customizing your phone. VZW has to wake up and smell the smoke. Neutering their phones all the time is gonna do nothing but drive their customers away.

So much better! [extended battery]

I have had five razr v3c's since December, and u think with all this hassle i would HATE this phone, but the truth is, i love it. My latest razr [4.0] is a major improvement from my previous razr, upgrading some slight software changes. the best thing about this 4.0 is it does not beep if its on vibrate or silent when the battery is dying. which is a big plus. but i was still not happy with the battery life of the phone. so i did so research and ended up buying the extended battery [1400] and new enlarged battery door. although this does take away from the general sleekness of the phone, the battery, which i have had for a couple days, lasts a least twice as long, and that is with sending/recieving over 100 message even sometimes 200 messages a day, and with about 10 to 15 phone calls. So I am very happy with this new "extended" battery, and recommend it to anyone who is not happy with their v3c battery life.

I love my Razr

I love my Razr phone. I purchased it from Metro pc and I guess they leave everything in tack. From the other reviews I assume other companies disable a lot of things on the phone. My blue-tooth works fine. I can download mp3 songs with my blue-tooth with no problems. My blue-tooth headset works fine all day. I had the Nokia 6255i and it took forever for the phone to recognize the blue-tooth. The razr does it immediately. The graphics are great and the reception is great. I love the fact that I can change the faceplate with snap-ons instead of unscrewing the phone to change the faceplate which voids my warranty. With the small size I can put the phone in any pocket and not worry about it getting smashed while I talk on the phone. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the phone.

Pros: works great with blue-tooth
great reception
looks good
works great with blue-tooth accessories
that I had with Nokia 6255i
video playback is wonderful

Cons: volume could be a little louder
needs more room for mp3 downloads.

Not Bad

I have the RAZR activated under the Verizon network. It isn't a bad phone except for a few flaws.

PROs
First off, the phone looks great!
Great, easy to use operating system.
Many features loaded into small phone.
Nice large, bright screen!
Nice and slim, making it easy to fit almost anywhere!
Nice keypad with light-sensitive back light.

CONs

Phone's EVDO and regular data features are useless in my home area (Extended Network). Living in Extended Network, I can only use the phone for voice, and text messaging. But that isn't the phone's problem, its the network.

Buttons on the side of the phone are too sensitive, and activate while opening the phone, making it almost impossible to "flip" open the phone from the side without activating a control. Wish there was a way to deactivate or lock side buttons.

Better Ringtones. The phone when operating on the verizon software doesn't come with any good, easy to hear and not too obnoxious ringtones. Very limited selection.

Overall, this phone has been a decent phone. The biggest problem I have found is with the side buttons. The problem isn't really bad, as it is annoying. Overall I give this phone a 3.5

Beware of this Phone!!!

Pros: none.
Cons: This phone can't be LOCKED!!! If the phone is locked and it receives a text message it opens like a bad clam. ITap for text messaging can't be set as default, It always reverts back to the abc method. Only the bottom home key can be programed for a shortcut. It's very user unfriendly
