my phone broke

Jul 27, 2007 by taylor_marie

I have had this phone for about 3 months now and it already broke.
i encourage you not to get this phone because many of my friends have had the same problem.
my screen doesn't work and the battery ran out already.

razr v3

Jul 26, 2007 by limogrl1

i've had my cherry blossom pink razr v3 since december 2006...it has a very clear sound and it has never dropped calls......the only problem i have had have been with t-mobile and the location of their towers where i live ...... i love the style and how it feels in your hand and the features are enough for someone who wants a phone and not an entertainment center,
i did cover it with a clear case to protect it and i recommend that everyone do that to keep it clean and safe from scratches and drops as it is fragile without one....

Good for what it is

I was really nervous after reading some of the reviews here, but I think a lot of the bad reviews come from people who expected too much out of this phone.

Pros:

-Beautiful streamlined design, fits nicely in my hand and slips into my pocket without a fuss

-Clear ring (though the default tones are pretty bad) and strong vibration

-I happen to think the picture/video quality. It's not great, but it IS only a cell phone camera, after all.

-Good sound quality and reception.

-I have had issues in the past with Bluetooth phones, but this one seems to get along fine with my computer.

-Text messaging is much easier on this phone than it was on my old Samsung for numerous reasons that I can't be bothered to list.

Cons:

-The navigation is not intuitive by any stretch of the imagination, & there seems to be a lot more buttons than are actually necessary or even useful.

-The address book is pretty weak. It's not an issue for me since I have >100 contacts, but for those who need a detailed address book for numerous contacts, this phone is not a good idea. It will not store things like mailing addresses or websites, & it isn't even searchable by anything other than the first letter of the first name.

The other issue I have is that the speed dial is unnecessarily complicated and tedious to set up. I didn't fully understand how to do it at first and it caused me to accidentally erase a phone number.

Overall, I'd say this phone isn't for everyone. It performs the basics very well, but let's be honest: the only thing that sets this phone apart from any other is its physical beauty.

Dropped Calls

May 22, 2007 by Certified Hustla

The RAZR isn't really all that. I had this for almost a year now and it was pretty cool at first until I got used to it. It had too many dropped calls. I have a black RAZR from Cingular and it pretty much sucks. The camera takes lousy pictures, all of the pictures turns out blurry after you take it. You can here a little misquito noise after a while on the phone. The signal bar isn't working well. I had all five bars and it still says I had no signal. The battery life is ok. I use the phone a lot so the battery is always dead before I go to bed. So I have to charge it every now and then to keep it charged. The screen capters too must dust inside it and you can't really clean it out. Screen is perfect and bright. I text a lot and the dialing pad is just perfect. The phone turns off on you when you get too many AIMs at once. It also turns off when you're on the phone with another person. Its not the battery either. Its just the phone. Battery is perfect.

Pros:
-Great battery.
-Loud Ringtones.
-Clear speaker phone.
-Nice style, small.
-D-Pad good for texting.
-Shortcut keys are very useful.

Cons:
-It just dies and turns off on you even though the battery is fully charged.
-Too many dropped calls.
-Turns off when you get too many AIMs.
-Bad Camera, goes blurry after you take the pictures.
-Screen collects too much dust and you can't clean it.
-That annoying misquito noise.
-Bad signal.
-Makes a weird noise when you bring it around a radio, TV, etc.
-Too little memory.

Well I hope that helps. I really dislike this phone.. and I'm looking forward to get the Samsung SCH-U420 at Alltel. A friend let me use his for a couple weeks and it worked way better than the RAZR. Nice signal, no dropped calls, clear pictures, no annoying misquito noises, works well around electronic devices. I just love that phone.

Do not waste your money on this phone

Fashion Statement. Nothing more

May 17, 2007 by Poco2

This is the worst Motorola phone I have owned. I don't need toys, I don't care if I can be as cool as the metrosexuals in the commercials. I need a functional phone with a small form factor. What a price to pay for a small form factor. Any phone that I have to dial with my fingernail (buttons ore flat, small and indistinguishable from one another - even my wife has a hard time with hers) is a phone I won't keep long. This thing will kill you if you use it while driving. You have to LOOK at it to use it.

Pros:
It is a phone
Small
Light
Came cheap with my latest plan

Cons:
You lose calls when the hard to one-hand-open cover snaps shut before you can answer the %$&#* thing.
Vibrate mode is practically useless, and I don't want my phone making stupid noises (including those retarded downloadable ringtones) when I get a call. It does not vibrate strongly enough.
Battery life is poor, and to compensate, the back-lighting turns off in, oh 2 seconds.
Buttons are flat and indistinguishable from one another. It is very easy to press the wrong button.
Ear-piece volume stinks.
Microphone stinks. I can't hear my wife very well when she uses hers to call me on my desk phone.
Fragile. The first time mine hit the ground (and they all do), the glass on the outside display cracked.
UI is unintuitive. It really stinks.
It makes a stupid noise when I turn it off. Yes I realize that you can set it to totally silent, but that turns off vibrate mode as well. I don't like phones that make stupid noises. How dumb people look when their phones go off in a business meeting!

Bottom line - I'm getting a non-toy phone next time.

Not very up- to- par on Moto's part!

When you first take a look at the V3 Razr it dosent look too bad. It has a nice external display and the internal display is '' ok '', but as most of you users know, it's almost unreadable when outside.

Pros:

- Nice, large screen as long as inside.
- Easy to use menu setup for 1st time users.
- Quick-jump menu buttons on keypad.
- Good, Strong signal in most places.
- Speakerphone works with phone closed.

Cons:
- Horrible battery life.
- Slow MediaNet connection.
- Has a dedicated video section, but you cant record video? Why?
- Not very dependable; freezes frequently.
- Low camera quality.
- Not very many '' jump up and down'' qualities.

In all, if you're looking for a phone with many features, I would suggest the SAMSUNG SYNC. It is similar in size to the razr and has many more PROS. Alot less $$$ for more phone!

razr sux?

Apr 17, 2007 by chanciferr

okay, hi my names chance.

lets start out with saying do not get this razr.

i have been through 3. (within a year) yea it sux. okay the first one im goiing to be honest it was my fault, i dropped in the water.

but the second one, the screen went all white. i happend to be on a trip to new york so that wasnt so pleasnt having my fone acting retarded. i figured out if u open & shut it and open and shut it over and over sooner or later it started to work. yay i was happy. for 5 seconds, cuz thats all it lasted for. after a few days of that i got reallyyy mad. so i threw it against the hotel wall. i opened it and it worked! i wass happy, for 25 seconds. i soon realized, the harder u throw it the longer it lasts. so i when i got home i went on our roof. and we have a 3 story house so on the roof, it was 4 stories. so i dropped my fone. went down to check on it and wow, it worked for like a day.

now i just got a phone cuz i had had it with that one. so i got a new one.

now, its doing it again. and i just got it a week ago, its in PERFECT condition then that happends? hmmm sounds like poor manufacturing.

another thing that sux is that all of a sudden it will be on virbrate. then next time u check its on silent? RETARDED.

and if you set peoples ringtones for when they call, as soon as you record a new one it switches all of the ringtones so u have to go through and set them again and again.

thanks for reading,

i would reccomend getting a krazr

okay bye

V3

Apr 2, 2007 by Remag1234

I have 2 Miami Ink V3's, 1 Cherry Blossom and 1
Gray Dragon. Both phones are great and do more than I need. If I want to play games, I use my computer. If I want music, I use my iPod. If I want to make movies, I use my camcorder.
The name of the device is CELLPHONE, DUH! That's what I use it for, a PHONE. It's not perfect like anything else, it has or develops problems. How many of you are perfect???
None I'm sure. Nothing is forever. I never read so many whinny wimps. The CELLPHONE makers are doing what the car makers do, put more and more gadgets so the suckers keep wanting to upgrade.
end of rant.

Overrated.

Mar 21, 2007 by goober8

Okay, like the title said, this phone is WAY overrated. This probably isn't big news to most of you, but everyone and their DOG has this phone. I don't know why I got it, but everyone said it was okay, which it isnt, so here's my pros and cons:

PROS
----
- Sleek design
-Bright vibrant keys and display
- Nice menu system
- T-Zones

CONS
----
- bust under both screens
- Fingerprints everywhere!
- Keypad gets really annoying
- Texting isn't very good
- The phone is wayyyyy too fragile
- It "Creaks"
- If you try and clean the screen, it smudges more
- Many more annoying things!

Overall, I think that this phone is okay for a person who can tolerate it, but seriously, I think you should get a phone that actually stands out, and that you actually want, not one that everyone else has and it's really boring and crappy.

/Ranting off. :) Thanks.
