AWFUL!!!!

Aug 9, 2006 by chuckiesmom

This phone is terrible. Not to mention the awkwardness that has already been mentioned with the buttons etc and the sound not being loud enough, the phonebook not holding enogh recent calls etc etc... I have had this phone for one month. About 3 days ago, my phone started I guess you would say dropping calls. I would talk for 10.23 minutes each time and my phone would lose the call no matter where I was at or what I was doing. The screen would go blank like it was shutting off, then come back on and say no service for about 2 seconds then go back to my original screen. It said I had a low battery after I took it off the charger, I put it on the charger it said it was fully charged. This has gone on continuously for 3 days. Sometimes my calls make it 5-10 minutes, mostly I don't even get the person to answer before my phone goes crazy. I took it to my provider, and it is not my service it is definitly my phone. Unfortunately this one was purchased from EBay so I am just out of luck. I will NOT get another Motorola again. I've never had trouble before with them, but this stupid phone has ruined me.

Cool

hi guys! i got this phone about a month ago and i must say I'm impressed! i was upgrading from my old nokia 3220, which is now a bit old. anyway i do still miss the video capture feature, but i found this site which tells you how to enable video capture on it. Anyway, the camera is quite good quality, and i love the way you can link the phone to the computer especially. It is on virgin mobile which is cheaper than my old one which is on O2. Anyway, the price is good, but whatever you do don't buy the V3i its a rip off it only has video (which you can do on the V3) and more memory. Anyway, the screen quality is very good, it makes sms fun as the buttons are easy to press, and the phone is small thin and light. also its good that it has bluetooth and what are you people braging on about it doesn't have an mp3 player i loaded mp3s onto it and it works fine. Bottom line: an altogether good phone.

re: Worse Phone I have ever owned

I guess the title tells it all. I have had motorolas in the past, but never quite this bad. Yes it looks kewl..That is where it ends. The volume is way too low from the earpiece. Many people complain that the voice quality on their end is poor and metallic. I am now returning my 3rd phone because of an echo when I receive calls. Customer service is crap, and they won't let you off the service contract or upgrade you to another phone. No more cingular after this phone. Never again.. If I could rate this phone a -5 I would.. I have had a zillions phones in the past, but this phone should never have been produced.

Pros: Looks good
Cons: Poor earpiece volume (too low)
Echo when receiving calls
Poor customer relations
Few options to change phones.
Overall disatisfaction with Cingular as well as phone.

A Surprising Device

I was shopping for a cell phone & decided to choose between the Samsung T-509 & the Motorola Razr. Both are slim phones & the Samsung had edge. But I did decide to go with the Razr after several friends stated they were good. Now I know that T-Mobile had Razr problems & quite a few were recalled. After reading CNET’s review & Phone Scoop’s review, I decided on the Razr.

Right out of the box, it is fantastic. Large screen, Big numbers, & Aluminum casing.
Wow! It is light & kind of user friendly. Anyone used to a Motorola phones knows what I am talking about. The phone has great reception & signal strength in Idaho Falls. Even in my basement I still get 4 bars. Sound quality is just as great. I had a Samsung prior to this razr and wind noise was terrible. The Samsung picked up all noise. The Razr is the First phone to have my wife hear me in high wind & heavy construction noise.

Ringer tone sound is ok. Not as good as the Samsung quality, but still better than most. Speakerphone is clear & loud. Earpiece could have been loader as most reviews have said, but still good. Screen is sharp & large..WOW. Even Picture mails are good quality.

The menu system allows you to change it. It is the same basic menu as the T-720. No big surprises. But it does have skins. This allows you to change the way the screen looks like a computer. It has only 3..Blue/Green, Scarlet Red, & Silver. Wish there were more. The Camera is good. It has a 640X480 resolution. Basic & no Video Recorder. This really upset me, but I can live with it. It does play video though.

If you are looking at a Razr Phone, I defiantly suggest this phone. The Pro’s overweigh the Con’s.

The black Razr is a very cool phone

The V3 Razr is very reliable and receives good reception and it is a quad band phone so it is perfect for anyone who travels over seas for business or pleasure, LOL! The speakerphone is reasonably loud and useful. Also I love the exterior design of the phone. The only problem I have with this phone is the camera as the quality of it could have been a little bit better but overall the phone is a good buy. Thanks saberpoint.com for the great bargain and fast shipping of the phone.

Razr V3 From a Heavy User

I have had virtually every phone and carrier on the planet. I use the phone an average of 5000 minutes or more per month and use Bluetooth almost every minute. When paired with the jabra 500 i find the phone to be the best at what I use it for which is a PHONE.
It is not a camera recorder or mp3 player.
Review those elsewhere. T mobile is my carrier because they have the BEST customer service and I get signal most everywhere from airports and freeways to the top of Mauna Kea in Hawaii. If you want to bounce your phone off the wall or make beautiful photos, look elsewhere but if you want to talk it doesn't get much better.
I returned a pebbl after only a few days.
Good luck with the other carriers.
By the way I do not work for any of the above.

At least it has bluetooth

I recently Had quite a few of these from our warrenty department. They upgraded me from a v557 which in my opinion was a peice of junk. This phone was actually worse.

Pros-

-At least it has Bluetooth

Cons-

-No EDGE on a MobiTv compatible phone? WTF?

-Extremely low call quality. Crackle in earpeice on all the ones I had.

-Dropped calls right and left unless I had over 3 bars of reception. also apparent in all the ones I had

-Bluetooth liked to disconnect If you left it all on standby for more than 15 mins. This only happened in one of which i used.I didnt bother pairing the others.

-They all seemed to have a high pitch humming in the earpeice when the phone was on standby.

-Complete lack of features. no EDGE, no High speed anything, Even the games suck.

I believe that Motorolas recent cut in the cost of this phone might be due to them cutting the cost of maufacturing it thus the poor quality in recent RAZRS.

i hate it!!

i will give the razr a 1.5 rating because it has a good look. it is all looks and no good qualities. it also has a pretty good signal. i also wish that they would make a red razr but only in my dreams i guess. right now my razr is acting stupid and i cant charge it. my mom said we are getting new phones after we get our school stuff. that sucks.i want an upgrade to a treo650. that phone is "nice". u should look it up.

pros:

nice look
pretty good signal

cons:

doesnt keep a charge long
it that good of a phone
too fragile
overpriced
scratches 2 easily
there is a delay when you're trying to answer
the browser sometimes is too slow
im getting tired of the "skinny phone" it feels like im holding a piece of paper up to my ear

OVERALL IT IS A RIPOFF.(UNLESS U JUST BUY A PHONE FOR THE LOOK) NOT ME THOUGH

great phone!!!

I love this phone!! out of all the phones I have purchased and there are many the v3 moto phone is by far the best. The pros about the phone is long battery life,my phone can go 3-5 days without charging, another pro is the slim design which i love it fits in my purse very easily i like that alot, another pro the camera quality its the best i have seen in any of the previous phones that i've had. There is only one con and that is I wish it had a stop watch or timer on this phone I use that alot in my school studies and it doesnt have that feature. Overall excellent phone I would recommend this phone to all my family and close friend its well worth the money. if they come out with another one i will buy it without fail.
