Fisher Price: My First Touchscreen

Forgive me for wasting space on this review page as I am not actually reviewing this phone. Spec-wise, this phone seems very decent. I checked this phone out at my local T-Mobile store and it seems to be a pretty cool phone. The phone seems to be relatively on par with the Behold. I wish Samsung would've chosen a better color scheme for the phone, but, it is for the younger crowd. I ultimately feel that this phone is nothing more than the Memoir and the Behold's lovechild. Samsung could've picked a better name for it instead of the Highlight. They should've named it the Samsung Lovechild. I'm not knocking this phone at all but it may have been a waste of time on Samsung's part only because most of the kids I see in my area are spoiled brats that already own either an Iphone or a Blackberry of some kind. I even saw a kid that had a Palm Pre within the first week that it was out. What business does he own? What conference calls does he make? How organized does he have to be? I guess he needs to stay on top of things during his busy schedule of sleeping all day, playing X-Box Live, and bugging his parents to buy him literally everything in the world. Once again, sorry for the useles banter. Hope you found this "review" helpful. And if not, at least a little entertaining in between looking at the other peoples' reviews including, what I feel ultimately, is the same list of pros and cons. I like reading other peoples' reviews of a phone but, just out of curiosity, why would you waste the space and, potentially, the future risk for a higher chance of developing arthritis to list the specs of the phone in your reviews? Phonescoop is a great cellphone site and they take the time to research the specs of a phone usually before it hits the market to deliver it to the online reader. As a matter of fact they even post the specs before you even get to the review section of the phone.

Samsung Highlite - Improved Browser

PROS

My main objective was to find a phone that had a large screen, and that ran on a 3g connection off t.zones ($5.99) and I believe that the Samsung Highlite does fulfil those needs, with a few hiccups along the way. Here is my list of pros and cons, after having only owned this phone for a few days.

Here are a few improvements to what is basically a scaled down version of the Samsung Behold.
An updated browser!! If you go into browser settings, it gives you the ability to choose between desktop view, or smart-fit view. That feature alone, makes this phone superior to the Behold. This phone runs on 3g and I am using it with my tzones internet connection, and it works great. I like the size of the phone, and the rounded shape. it fits really well in the palm of your hand.

CONS

Phone is not intuitive enough. Too many clicks required to get done what you need to do.
Speaker phone is ok, however trying to activate it is difficult, since the button is so small.
The camera should have had flash built in.
When locking the screen, you have to manouvre your hand to the top right hand corner, very awkward position. This could have been done with either the end or send button.
The phone should have included some sort of scroll mechanism, sometimes it is hard to use your finger on the touch screen.
I am not able to surf the web and be on a call at the same time. Not sure what technology that is, but I would like to be able to do that.

CONCLUSION

If you want to hold onto your tzones connection, and need a large screen, this is a fair choice. the behold will do the same thing, but with a better camera, and a cheaper price tag, so I am not sure what you are gaining with the highlite, other than perhaps updated software.

Child's Play

With the Behold and the Memoir still on the market this is an attempt to lure the kids into the Samsung fold. I always thought the Memoir was a man's phone and the Behold was a woman's phone. This phone here has no flash and the battery life is surprisingly good. The color choose was a bit ehhh but like I said its for kids so what do you expect. Nothing special about this phone at all. All the same specs and features of the two parents of this phones just minus a flash.

Nice alternative!

Pros:
THE PHONE IS BASICALLY LIKE THE MEMOIR AND THE BEHOLD except the camera is only a 3.0

Cool colors to choose from!

Cool interface for web2go Home page

Has a widget for online apps!

Cons:
THE PHONE IS BASICALLY LIKE THE MEMOIR AND THE BEHOLD.

NO FLASH
