tough phone, bad signal

Jul 25, 2004 by MR2turbo

PROS: Despite feeling "cheap" this is a very tough phone that I have dropped numerous times on hard surfaces and it never stops working. It is small and very easy to carry around. Battery life is above average as well. The games that can be downloaded for this phone are alright.
CONS: Takes a long time to turn on and off. Joystick control is not very precise. Signal is quite horrible in many places, which I assumed to be a T-Mobile problem, but from other reviews people seem to say that it is this phone so I will be moving up to a nokia most likely. At times I will be driving down the road and it goes from a full signal to no signal at all and then back to full signal again. It drops calls a lot, and quite often doesn't ring when people call even if it is showing that I have a signal. Many times when I answer the phone, the person on the other end can't hear me even though I can hear them loud and clear. There is a long delay between when you push the button to place the call and when the call actually connects. Overall operation of the phone just seems very laggy and slow, memory is very limited on the phone as well. Low resolution screen is almost useless for viewing pictures, but if you have an infrared port on your computer you can transfer the pictures and they look considerably better on the computer.
So basically you can see the the CONS outweigh the PROS by a large margin. Not worth the $150 I paid for this phone back when I bought it.

Phone is very poor in reception and very slow soft ware. It is a great cheap camera phone but nothing more. Screen resolution is very poor.

I'm Convinced, the T300 is Not a Good Choice

I've had a great deal of trouble trying to use this phone, in spite of it's advanced features. It's very stylish and the extensive menu system, while confusing, is organized in the best possible way. Unfortunately, on the T-Moble system some necessary features aren't available. For example, you can't save user names and passwords on 3rd party web sites using the browser.

The big problem is connectivity. It doesn't seem to work very well on the network. I keep having to turn it off and on again to make a call or use the browser. Other users suggest that it doesn't pick up signals as well as other models, and given my trouble using the T-Mobile system, I assume the phone is part of the problem. Although I've learned that the network is spotty, this phone really complicates those deficiencies, dropping calls, not ringing for incoming calls, and loosing wireless service from time to time. God only knows what they were thinking when they put this phone on this network. Don't they beta test these things?

I hope that this review will help any of you who is decding to buy this phone. To me, this phone is great because of its RF performance (in Vancouver). Also, this is one of the colour phones that is very cheap to buy. Next I will list the pro's and con's of this phone.
PRO'S:
- price is good
- colour screen
- polyphonic ring
- joy-stick is easy to use
- RF performance is good
- changable covers
- games are fun
- downloadable rings, games and wallpapers
- keypad gives good feeling
CON'S
- ring tones too soft
- everytime after you put your phone on your ear it leaves a mark on the face plate
- battery goes fast
- design is very very simple
- hard to change face plate
- too little space for saving information such as pictures and ring tones
In conclusion, I think this is a phone that is worth your money.

t300 worst phone ever created?

Well this is probably the worst phone i had ever used, most people are impressed with the color display, (256 colors, yay!) i was not, it is durable, I give it that, mine didnt break after i threw it at the wall. I switched from a nokia 3590 to this phone, signal was cut in half, then I returned it, got another, same problem, took that back, tried one more, same thing, so I got back my 3590 and signal was back to normal. Go figure, ericsson phones ever since I started selling them always had poor reception, no big deal in major cities, get on a fringe area and compare it with a Nokia phone, I wont say Nokia is the best, but something is wrong here... Camera quality is probably the worst I've ever seen, or maybe I got used to the crystal clear 16bit color display on my Sprint phone, that I just recently signed up for. Cheap... I guess you get what you pay for.

worst reception ever

I used to own this phone and after about a week decided to get rid of it. The reason why is it kept dropping calls and not receiving a signal in most places. I recently up graded the phone because it was a glorified paper Waite

Phone excellent, T-Mobile coverage lacking

Jul 26, 2003 by Karla Turbyfill

I absolutely love this phone. Everything about it is wonderful and it’s easy to use. I'm trying out T-Mobile for the 14-day trial period and have decided not to use T-Mobile any longer. The coverage on the GSM network is not as good as the CDMA network because it is new, and will most likely not be adequate for 5-10yrs (they need to build more towers). GSM is 5sqmi/tower whereas CDMA is 7sqmi/tower and is already very well established. Sprint, Alltel and Verizon carry CDMA and have stated they 'will not change to GSM' like AT&T is currently doing. I love my phone, and I wish that other companies carried it because with T-Mobile I do not get service in my home or my yard (which is ridiculous because I’m in the middle of their area) and there is no booster antenna I can use to fix it (believe me I’ve tried). The good thing about T-Mobile is that it’s cheap; definitely the best deal if it works in your area.

Great phone for the price, especially when its free w/ a rebate. Also, if your new to cell phones like me, the features are really cool.

I hated this phone

Maybe I was spoiled by my old but nice SamsungR225. I went and bought this new phone very excited about it's capabilities. As the day went on I got less and less excited untill the next day when I returned the awful thing, and here's why.

This phone feels like a cheep toy! The buttons are hard to push right and are on a replaceable rubbery thing under the face plate. It does not feel solid and squishes if you squeeze it. Feels like it will break just holding it in your pocket. IT'S SLOOOOW, getting from screen to screen and makeing calls is slow. Every time I go to call someone I get a "connecting" alert and if it even decides to let my call go through it will take a few seconds. On my old samsung there was no "connecting" alert, the other person's phone just started ringing. The screen is somewhat dull and definatly hard to make out in bright, or well lit areas. The call quality was really bad, I could almost always hear my own voice echo in it, and I was always asking my friends "what?" The volume is way too low mostly, but even so there is the every present chhsshshsshshh of subtle static through nearly every call, very dim, but there.

The games are SLOOW, you can barely move your space invader guy around, and they are very streaky. There are better phones for cheaper than this!

PROS: You paid a lot so your friends will think your cool anyhow!(I bought at retail for 279.99)

Uh, changable face plates

BATTERY USSAGE, ok this wins an award for up to 7.5 hours talk time, I'll give it that.

CONS: SLOW
GLICHY
MURKY DISPLY
TOO QUIET
BAD RECEPTION
PERMA STATIC
CHEAPLY MADE, (DON'T DROP!)

About the Sony Ericsson

I use this phone with T-Mobile for a trial period, although it has great features the phone and service are to be reliable, we would all agree to that.

It takes a while to load when dialing a number, or it get frozen a few seconds before continuing scrolling down when viewing a picture.

The features are great but unfortunately I have not been impressed at all. The static noise in the background makes me feel as if a TV is on, and Thank God it is only a trial period.

We all need a stylish phone but a reliable one would be SOLID SALE.

Nah! that is not the best out there.
