Hunk o' junk

This phone looks really neat and the blue backlight is very cool. I had mine for a little less than a year and then had the problem where it went into "searching" mode indefinitely. They traded it out for a new phone (same model) at the store. Now less than a year later, the display screen seems to have burned out. I can't see who is calling on the caller ID, and can't access my address book. This phone stinks. AVOID IT!!!

AWFUL!

These phones are horrible. They WILL NOT LAST. If you get one PLEASE do yourself a favor and get a new phone because it WILL die. I LLOOVVEED my phone because it was small, the interface was VERY efficient, and it had EVERY feature that I wanted. Unfortunately the third one I've been through just died and ate all my contacts with it. I really was hoping that the third one would last and I tried to take the absolute best care of it that I could but my efforts were unfortunately fruitless. Please, please, please get yourself a better phone!!!

I definetely love this phone just recently bought it and It was worth the price, Blue backlighting is awesome, and all the features, alarm, stopwatch, and much more, battery life is good and I think it's kyocera's most wonderful cell phone they ever created. I very pleased with my new cell phone.

Well i've had this phone(5135)now for one week and so far so good.It is comfortable on the ear.Good ring volume,as well as great reception.Text messaging works good, easy to use.The only con i have with this so far is that the phone gets pretty warm on the hand and ear if you talk on it for more than 5 to 6 min.Anyone else find this problem with the Kyocera 5135??

overall i love the phone.I upgraded from the motorola timeport8767.This is my first non motorola phone in 10 yrs. WOW!!

not a bad phone

I really enjoy my new kyocera 5135. However, 2 cons, #1 is no outside caller display, and #2, it is not a 3G/1X phone. I also find that the blue display can be a bit hard on the eyes at times. Also I find you have to really tug on the antenna to keep it from falling back into the phone. These are small downsides to the the phone. It is user friendly, small and sleek, and would recommend the phone to someone in search of a new cell phone.

New Kyocera

I have used the new phone for a month now, and i am glad too report that the phone has excellent talk time close too 3hrs. The reception is great. The incoming audio is clean and clear, the out going is also great.
The bright blue back light is great, the menue is easy too use. It would have been nice to have a outside display. But I buy a phone for its ability to be a phone, gadgets are secondary. And the Kyocera 5135 is a very good phone.

Nothing But Problems....5135

I bought my Kyocera 5135 last October 2002 and it worked great for about 6 months.... I then started having problems, the phone would start searching for signal (mostly in areas that it used to work in). Then it started staying in "Searching" mode all the time..
My cellular provider had to send it back to the manufacturer for a "software upgrade"... But instead of upgrading the S/W they sent me a brand new phone.... Now I've had this new one for a few months and it's worse than the first one....... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PHONE....
