8600 speakerphone problem, not LG's fault

I am just as dissapointed as any one with this speakerphone problem, so I wrote LG and told them how stupid they were for doing this. Some from LG quickly responded and told me it was not LG that made that decision, the carriers tell them how to make them and what to put on them, so I stil love Verizon, but that is stupid, how hard could it be to allow the phone to close and keep the call going. Does anyone know if you can close the 9900 while on speakerphone, the 9800 you cant.

The 9900 will be the same I love everyone keeps saying how verizon doesn't make the phones, duh true but you guys would be so shocked if you knew just how much verizon dictates what the phone will do, and obviously what software it will run.

hmmmm... the Moto e815, razr & krazr all have the ability to use the speakerphone with the flip closed... and the speakerphone can also be turned on before you're on the call. So I find it interesting that VZW would allow Moto to do it, and not LG! ๐Ÿ˜•

No it's true, we consumers would be amazed at all the behind the scenes stuff that goes on between cellular providers and phone makers. Verizon can dictate a lot of things that happen with the phones they use.

That is solely because the 4700 is a PTT phone. I don't know of any other VZW LG speakerphone that works when closed.

I know that this is an important feature for some, but I wonder how many it really is important for? I personally have never used it, I don't do conference calling and I use a wireless bluetooth for hands free calling in the car. Can you tell me why it is so important that it would not make you purchase an otherwise very good phone, that might be better in all other areas than all the phones that do have this feature?
