Transfering Music From Computer to SD

I have a question...I have read some place on this website that it is possible to transfer music to your SD while hooked into your computer, but when I tried this it did not work. How do I go about doing this? Has Verizon blocked it in some way? I dont really want to buy the whole Music Essentials Kit.

first put the card in your phone and power it off and then on again. this should format the card. now when you put it back in your computer just put your mp3's in the "my music" folder. should work just fine.
