hi ppl,

I m confused between 8300 and 8600.. so those who have used both the phones cav give me their advice....

features i am interested in ...

1. loud speaker - imp
2. games (inclusding 3D) - imp
3. ability to play MP3 -
4. customizable menu (seems both have this capability) -
5. ability to set mp3 ring tones
6. accpetable camera quality
7. good reception (feel like won't be a matter with any of the sets)
8. battery life (my utilization is max 2 hrs a day)

bluetooth is not an issue for me coz i hv used it may be 5 times in the last year to transfer pictures and songs which i can do with usb as well. (which seems to be the major difference btn 2)

thanks...

my buddy got an 8600 yesterday and it is a pretty cool phone, however if you really want a phone that is the most flexible and durable over a long period of time--I would go with the 8300. The 8600 is really nice, but I feel like I would have trouble using it over a long period of time.

IMO the only thing the 8300 has over the 8600 is the speaker phone, the speaker phone on the 8600 is good but not loud as the 8300. reception is better in the 8600, UI is better in the 8600, you can read texts on the outside screen in the 8600, camera is the same as 8300, but the 8600 has the sex appeal its a gorgeous phone.

I've had the 8100, 8300 and now and most proudly the 990. The 990 blows the entire lg line-up outa the water hands down. The 990 has everything the 8300 has with the benefit of a really nice camera, and a light while yo record videos. The only real down side to the 990 is the feaken price $500 full retail, but i was able to swing it and its been WELL worth it for me. What makes it worth the price for me is having the camera, if you do not care about the camera function as much as i do then go with the 8300, i was really happy with that phone to, the only reason i switched was for the camera.

My uncle has had a couple of Samsung and the ringer volume is so low he opps to carry it on vibe most of the time.

I really like the 740 announced today. Are all the features strong on high end Samsung's? Bad ringer volume is a pretty big CON.

Well i've never owned a sammy other than the 990 and i can tell you from first hand experience that my sammy's ringer is just as loud as both my 8100 and 8300 were.
