Hi bkw79,
I was thinking of getting the vx8300, but now I am considering the vx8600 but am worried about the keypad which from what I read is like the Razr flat keypad which worries me. I have the Razr and have have grown to hate it because of the problems with its keypad. Also, the battery on the Razr really is bad so I am hoping that this will not be a problem with the 8600 (I have never read a problem with this and the 8300). How do you find the keypad on the vx8600 and does the bluetooth work as well or better than the vx8300.

Well, I have the chocolate, vx8300, and vx8600, and the bluetooth works better on the vx8600 in my opinion. Plus with the vx8600, you can transfer unprotected pix, sounds, and videos through bluetooth, to and from your computer. The keypad is flat, but it seems very easy to use. 😎

1. i turned on bluetooth, tried to transfer some files using from my Moto SLVR phone using bluetooth to this phone but it find the LG8600. It finds all other non-VZW phones so I'm not sure what you say is true. Have you tested it?

2.i just copied an 4mb mp3 file to the music folder the phone created on the microSD card. On the phone, 'Settings and Tools', 'Memory Card', 'My Music', i see the file but no option to play it at all. How do you play it?

The keypad is horrible its way to small, the battery is not sufficient for heavy users, it will be ok for light users.

People have a tendency to get all excited when purchasing a new product, yes this phone looks cool but the functionality is lacking, sup par reception compared to the 8300, Bluetooth headset still has horrid echo, keypad is junk. I'm returing mine 👿

i guess your the sour apple in the bunch then, cuz all i heard was good things about the phone. the bluetooth is better than the 8300, i tested the dummy myself and the key pad its not small, it will take a little time to get use too cuz its flat but it has a clicking sensation when you press the buttons. As far as reception people are saying its good, But the ultimate test comes from me and my basement when i test out the phone there i will comment on that.

Yeh, I have 4 lines and use the vx8300 on one and vx8600 on the other, and the reception seems the be the same. It has even more bluetooth features, and the bluetooth works better. And you are right, the keypad is definitely not small.

Yeah, this post sounds a little suspicious to me ;)

This goes against EVERY other post I have heard, but then again, there are always a few people who run into problems.. Shrug.

its different, its hard to explain but its not small, it seems a tiny bit smaller then the razr but bigger than the krzr. the buttons are flat and have a clicking feel to them, i saw the dummy phone if your worried about the buttons being small there not. i am a big guy and i got thick fingures, not hulk thick, lol, but i had no problem handling the phone.

Hey Everybody,
I don't necessarily think that Platypus is lying. Before I bought the Razr I read nothing but great reviews, but after a few weeks they started coming in, problems with battery life, loose keypads, and it all happened to me after a few months of use. I am trying to be cautious about this phone as I like LG phones and this one sounds good, but it has not been tested by enough of us over time (like the vx8300 has - and it still seems to be getting good reviews)to see how it really is. I guess we will really see how the phone is after Wednesday's release and we get more reports from others.

the phone has been relaeased in japan before the US and its been tried and tested there. I agree with you in some ways, the razr did have alot of hype and alot of people did have problems with them. BUT a major majority of people who have the razr did not have problems. Infact many friends of mine have it and love it. It just seems so many people have problems with it because thousands of people talk about it in forums where millions of phones were sold.

Good point, when you sell so many of one kind of phone there is bound to be problems with some of them, except I did hear that the newer Razrs have improved on the battery life. I guess I will just wait another week and see how the reviews come in.

I think some of the problems are only found by people that actually know phones. Like Bluetooth issues, for example. So many people with Bluetooth phones don't even know what BLuetooth is and therefore don't use it. You just hear about it more on places like this where you have a lot of people who know how a phone works inside and out and can pick out the things that are wrong that the average person would never even notice.

I don't even like LG but this one is a winner. I use an H700 bluetooth and there is aboslutely no echo whatsoever. Works flawless. Yes, you heard it from a die hard Moto fan. This 8600 is the real thing. Call quality is great on both ends, speakerphone is good, not great, screen is beautiful, external screen is very nice, texting is easy, phone looks and feels great(an extended is a must), the player sounds very very good without the headset, don't know yet how it sounds with a headset. More to follow.

LOL this is funny, the LG reps came into my store and actually have one(VZW) that is meant to get destroyed he hit it, dropped it, opened it flat and hit it, then pressed send all to have it work exactly the same as when he walked in.
I have had about every phone VZW offers and have NO complaints on my 8600.
