Has anyone had any luck getting a case for this phone. I would like to get one that actually fits this phone and does not look like it costs 0.99 cents.

The pouch that Verizon sells for the Samsung a990 fits the Chocolate perfect! Nice black leather with white topstitching and magnetic flap. Fits it like it was made for it! Of course, the dimensions are almost identical.

I bought a case from Verizon with the phone. However it had a clear plastic cover over the touch buttons, which rendered them almost impossible to operate.
A little exacto knife surgery and now I have a case that fits perfectly, has all the right openings, and even allows the phone to slide open if I want to use the keys, although the screen is slightly obscured at that point. The top slides out of the case partially. However I only use the keys for texts so usually I can use the phone with no problems.

I was trying to decide between the actual case and the case that was suggested (A990). Went to verizon to see A990 case..it is very nice and would work if you put the phone in upside down for headphones. tried the other case made for chocolate and you are right the buttons won't function.

Curious as to how you cut it to get the phone to slide open...

the bottom half of the phone says in the case, and since the case is totally open on the top end, the top half of the phone slides up and sticks partially out of the case when I open it. It isn't perfect, but it does allow access to the keys through the hole that I cut to access the touch keys.
Cutting out the plastic doesn't seem to affect the case at all. I've been using it this way for about a week. If you have big fingers you might have trouble getting to the touch keys but I am managing fine.
I can get pics later with my gf's RAZR and email them if you want to see how it works.

Sorry guys, I don't know how to post pics in this forum. I will email as soon as I remember to take a few pics. Here is another attempt at explaining it.
It is simple once you get it, the Verizon case has two clear plastic pieces; one over the screen and one over the touch sensitive buttons. I just cut the one covering the touch buttons out with a razor blade to allow direct access to the front of the phone.

The phone slides into the case from the top of the case, so when I slide it open the front of the phone slides out of the open top of the case and I can stick my finger through the hole I cut when I need access to the inside number keys. Look at your case and slide the phone open without removing the phone from the case, it w...

I also modified my case. I hated having the case block when I was text messaging so last night I cut the top part off of the front of the case and it works great. cut from the part where the phone in the front connects to the back. above where the leather is sewed to the plastic. I also darkened it with black sharpie and put super glue over the part I cut so it would not shred or come unsewn. Looks great. Try to get a picture out soon.
