I'm interested in the LG Chocolate but I'm on a Verizon family plan and I'm not the main number on it. I've had my phone for two years now, so I could get the Chocolate for $199.99 - $50 rebate right now with a renewal, but I can't get it for just $49.99 because I'm not the primary on the family plan. The primary number will be up for the New Every Two discount and could buy the Chocolate for just $49.99 on October 18. I was wondering whether or not the phones are usually updated some or changed at all soon after they're released. I am sure they will release more models. There are more models oversees, but it will be some time before they come here if I had to guess. I would probably say around christmas time to be safe. There are new software versions they release for phones if there are bugs or imperfections etc. I would probably get the phone now if I was you. I'm tempted to wait just to save the money, but I also haven't read any reviews that mention bugs on the phone so I might just get it now. The thing is, I'm leaving for college in two weeks and if I wait till October to get it, my family will have to ship it to me (I'm going to school 2,000 miles from home). It's feasible, but I'd also be stuck with no phone for a day or two (or three) after they activated the Chocolate and shipped it to me. So it's $100 saved and the possibility of bugs (if they exist) being fixed, or just getting it now to have when I leave.

Also, I'll be in Canada for school so I'm upgrading to the North American plan, so as soon as I switch I'll no longer be on a family plan, I'll be the primary on my own single line ...
