Little upset. First I will start with the pros: This phone is cool, i love the ui, you can customize a ton! took verizon banner off, got rid of red, animated walpaper, you can set the shortcut keys, you can send ringtones through mms no problem. I love the size, doesn't feel any bigger than my razr. Battery life seems ok. Bluetooth clarity is excellent, worked just as well as my razr, and far better than 8100. Sound is great, just as clear and loud as razr in earpiece and ringtone. Ringtones not as loud as 8100/8300 but still very good sound. Now I am not going to cry about the speaker phone, I never use it and knew it was absent before purchase.

Now here is my problem! The phone has something wrong with it and I have to get it swapped ac...

🤣 give me a little credit.
If i put the songs in the sounds folder i can play them through that, if i put them in the music folder it shows and plays them but gives me no sound? According to lg and Verizon it is jacked up, so I guess I will just keep playing them out of the my sounds folder till i get it fixed.

This MAY be what you are looking for, but maybe not.

It's about mp3's as ringtones on the chocolate and 8300, but I have a feeling it may also "turn on" the mp3 player.

I just got my chocolate from FedEx (1 day !!!) and it's still charging, so I haven't tried yet.

thanks but I can't open that link and I already have 13 mp3 ringtones on my phone working just fine. Everything works fine on the phone except the music player, it has no volume eventhough it shows it turned all the way up, but ringtones and music files located in the my sounds section of the card work just fine, jus tthe ones in the music folder have no audio? it is really weird. I tried a master reset, i tried reformatting the card three times. I tried taking the battery out. What is funny is I can through the card in an 8300 and hit the play button and bam no issues plays right through, but not on my chocolate. I really think i just got a lemon.

hey dude sounds like a real headache. Theres always glitches when a phone comes out. However I work for Verizon and we dont have any phones in the back room yet. They dont come in until the 7TH of this month. Sorry to dissapoint you but its the truth. Quite honestly I cant wait to see these phones in action. People ask me every day when there supposed to be here or do we have them yet. If we had them in the back I wouldve so like 30 of them so believe me we dont have them in the back room until the 7th

A lot of stores won't dig into back inventory for this kind of thing anyways, would rather sell those to new activation/upgrades then swap them for issues.

There's probably a software release coming out to fix this VERY soon, you're probably not the only one with this problem.

Did anybody actually read what his problem was. We sat here for 3 hours messing with it trying different things and nothing worked. If you actually log into vcast music it works, my sounds works, it just doesn't work if you go into my music. The phone shows its playing there is just no sound. On a side note I love this phone and can't wait to get one for myself. And as far as speakerphone, who cares. If you don't like it don't get it. THere is no need to keep complaining about something that isn't there.

i was back-and-forth on the speakerphone thing ever since i was in the market for a second cell (One didnt have speaker and was $50 another had speaker but it was $130 lol) and when i was deciding on a phone which is my current. My final decision was between an Audiovox CDM-8910 or Samsung SCH-a670. The 8910 didnt have a color outer screen and video capture, but it had speaker phone. I choose 8910. Now i wish i had picked the 670.

Final Point: Speaker doesnt matter to me anymore. I hardly ever use it on my 8910 and now i wish i had the 670.

That's interesting because Mossberg did a tech article on the Chocolate in the Wall Street Journal a few days ago. One of his main negative comments was that VZ had it set up in such a way, that it gave him trouble playing MP3's that he put on the card also, but Music Downloaded from the VZ site worked perfectly. He could still play the others, but it took some klugy work arounds instead of just playing them as it did the ones he had to buy from VZ.

downloaded vcast music will not play on phone either, i also tried just a wma format, so it is not the file type but the actual phone. As far as i can tell it is ridiculously easy to put songs on, make playlists and use the player. Mine just has no sound.
