Sprint RAZR V3m and mp3s

Does the Sprint version of the RAZR V3m play MP3 files? I am getting conflicting information from Sprint. Also, if it does, can I upload my own MP3s to the phone?

Thanks
(newbie) Steve

Yes, but I can't find any reference on the actual Sprint Web site that says that their version plays MP3s. The person in the store told me no and the customer rep on the phone said yes. I don't know who to believe. So I was hoping to find an actual Sprint user of this phone and verify with them that they have actually synced MP3s from their PC to this phone.

Thanks for your reply, though 🙂

I have a sprint V3m. Just got it a few days ago. Just had to register to let you know, that YES it does play MP3's and also WMA files. Out of 113 Mp3's that I put on it, it only saw 96 of them.. I have not had time as to why it didn't see all of them, but I am going to look into it more this weekend.

I also converted a few movies to *.3gp and put them on the micro SD card and it read them just fine. Also another question you might have is YES it does see the 2gb micro SD card. I have the Sandisk.

The only way I have been able to put them on the phone is by taking out the micro SD card and transfer them via USB card reader. So far there isn't too much software out there that will see the Sprint V3m. I can edit a few things with t...

How do you do it.. co-worker of mine has one, and the option for "mem card" which is USUALLY within the "Media Player" menu is not there.
How do I get access to the mem card to PLAY the mp3s?

Ok.. more specifically..
On my phone (A920), you go to media player, then there is an option for memory card.
If I go to "MUSIC", from the main menu, that is ONLY for music purchased from the sprintmusic store..

Are you saying that "Music" stores songs from your OWN mp3 collection AND purchased from sprint??

that is the case here.

on all phones designed with a media player previously, you would place your own mp3s in the media folder, just as you mentioned.

and yes, the musicstore songs will be there too.

so they important thing to realize is that the musicstore application has always, and probably will always, access web. we have no explanation as to why, but thats how it works.

what this all means is that with the sprint v3m, if you are playing mp3s, you are accessing the web.

that means, for those of you who dont have vision plans, this could cause you problems.

I just got my red Razr v3m yesterday from Sprint. Yes it takes mp3's. I just got done loading them onto the microSD card that comes with the phone and then listened to them. The mp3 player sounds really good too. No motorola mobile phone tools for the phone yet ( there is one avail. for Razr but it doesn't work with Sprint Razr's) though and the store didn't have the equipment yet to transfer my phonebook from old phone onto Razr ☚ī¸

Where do you have to put them on the mem card?

Im trying to help my coworker, and everything I know about mem cards and mp3s seems to be wrong with this phone.

God I hate RAZRs

The micro SD fits into the SD adapter that comes with the phone. Once you put the micro into the adapter you then have to find a way to connect the SD to your computer. I have two ways. My printer has an sd slot or I have an mp3 player which I am able to connect to my computer and I can manipulate files through it. I used my printer sd slot this morning. after inserting the sd into either the printer or the mp3 player then go to Explore and you can drag and drop whatever mp3 files you want onto the sd card. then reverse the process. take the micro out of the adapter, place it back in your phone...when you open your Razr on the main menu screen you'll see an option for Music...click it then it'll take you to a screen where you can either choo...

the sprint RAZR V3m DOES PLAY MP3s, and you CAN UPLOAD YOUR OWN. i work for radioshack, and i got the RAZR the day that we got it in our stores. The Music Store is THE SAME on EVERY POWER VISION PHONE. All you have to do is take your MicroSD/ TransFlash card, and either put it into the SD card adapter, or do what i did, and buy the SanDisk 5-in-1 USB adapter(it was on sale for $10 last week) and just plug the MicroSD card directly into that, then plug it into your computer. Then, Create a folder on the card called "MUSIC" and drag your MP3s into the folder. NOTE: it does NOT support a folder heirarchy inside the MUSIC folder, so you can't really sort your MP3s. Then just run the music store program and you're all set.

I would also like to specify/clarify, that you can ONLY play your MP3s through the Music Store, and not via the Media Player anymore... and it also seems to me that the only way to watch movies that you load onto your memory card is to go to the "Pictures&Videos", i.e. where the camera&camcorder are, and click "My Videos". so this would lead me to conclude that Sprint has totally closed the Media Player down to everything except the streaming content offered through them.

corrections if im wrong would be appreciated.

please and thank you.
