Have the customer turn off the phone off and then plug it in to their USB port.
Go to Device Manager (on the customer's computer) and make sure under Modems it says Motorola USB Modem (it may have a number after it).
Leave the phone off.
Go to
When the Window pops you will get the options: Open, Save, Cancel, or More Info. Choose Open.
Once the file completes, Power ...

Any other tips? I have tried everything you suggest and gotten quite intimate with the tech support for many hours late at night, but the best I could achieve, was buying the microsandisk and manually saving music from my PC to the disk from Media Player without synching through the USB. Also, do you know of a way to play MP3s bypassing the media player altogether?

I have been having the same problem with Windows Media not detecting a portable device. I also have tried everything mentioned so far with no luck. I was hoping that you could tell me how you transferred music from windows media to the SD card. Every time I try to sync it I get a message saying that the media is write protected. How do I get around that? Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure how helpful this is, but at least it got me going... I still can not synch music, but once I rip the songs I want using Windows media player from my cds, I can then save them from my music file on my pc to the my music file on my microcard, using a card reader. Then I can play the music through the razr.
