That pesky Verizon Banner
I suspect that I know the answer to this question but I am asking as a last resort....is there ANY way to get rid of the Verizon Wireless banner on the front and inside display?
I have gone to the store and asked and they have told me that there isn't a way...all the other phones have the option of removing the ERI banner, but I can't find how to do it on this phone...
I am hoping that someone has a way to "backdoor" into the phone to remove the banner...
Anyone?
Love the phone otherwise, oh-one more thing, I was advised of something to be careful with this phone in regards to the flip... be careful when opening the flip to NOT flip it hard because of the "ribbon" that is in the hinge has a tendency to rip and break (and it's NOT...

Verizon Wireless is now gone!
If you want to put your own banner on, then go as below and put what you want on the blue line and save.
#1 Personal
Put what you want on the Blue line and click ok. Now the phone says personal banner set with your words on the top.

you must NOT be working with the Verizon Razor, there is no where in the settings that I could find the ERI option of turning it off, like in my old lg 8600...believe me, I have looked, and it is just NOT there...I was hoping that someone would have a "bacldoor" method of getting into the phone to get rid of that banner...

I am sorry that it does not work on your phone. Yes, I do have a Verizon Razr V3m. I just got it yesterday. The date on the box is 6/20/07.

Sir, I do believe that was rather sarcastic and inappropriate. I bought a razr V3M from Verizon last week and that option DOES NOT exist. There is no area in Display for the ERI. You may have a hacked model.

I had verizon do a software update today...they have now corrected and added a new look to the phone. The outside buttons no longer work to change ring options. You can also have the phone ring and vibrate together.
I would suggest to all who haven't or are not interested in flashing the phone to go to your verizon store and have it done.

searching for something somewhat related I stumble on this thread.
to portlandgal, the message regarding eri in display settings is as noted confirmed for a non-hacked verizon razr v3m. you can turn off the eri banner. if you cannot maybe yours is the hacked razor--whatever that is.

settings---Display---Foregrounds---Greeting Banner. Can't turn off, but can change message. Hope this helps.
