go to cnet.com then to downloads. There is a free trial called mp3 cutter. It is super easy and works very well. What is great is that the free trial version limits you to 30 second cuts, but that works out great for ringtones! this one also allows you t adjust the bitrate so you can tweak the quality. Just remember the file needs to stay under 350kb if you are sending through mms. have fun.

I followed your instructions - after you cut the song - what do you do next, i.e. (for those not very tech savy) - can you give me a step by step from the point of the song being cut - to getting it into your phone.

Thanks

sure, you just email the cut song (via hotmail or any email service u might have) to your8digitnumber@vzpix.com and you will recieve a text messege on your phone..just open the messege and go to options on the screen where you have the song opened (in the messege) save it as a ring tone and ur all done!

Excuse me, but don't you mean your10digitnumber@vzwpix.com? The address you've been throwing about doesn't include the w after the vz and it doesn't work for me without it.

Am I correct?

Need help, which mp3 cutter is it on cnet. I see a bunch, MP3 cutter joiner 2, mp3 sound cutter 1.4, mp3 cutter and joiner 1.0 ect.
Any help would be appreciated. Just got the 8300 last night and everything is working great so far but I need some decent ring tones.

I recommend Audacity and the addition of lamelib.

They work great and are easy to use.

The above address is for Macs and it works great. However, in order to save to MP3 you'll need to download a small, free program.

Without it, you'll just be frustrated.

For Windows users, go here:
