A few clarifications...

Not full OBEX. For Vcards only.
Bluetooth DUN is present, for the tethered EVDO product now available.
Flash interface is 2 themes built in (callled Pulse and Silver Spin). No evidence that there will be the ability to add more by any means, though I do assume a Get It Now app is likely.
No internal mention of A2DP for bluetooth music playback. There are internal docs on the moto wrap around bluetooth stereo headset coming soon though... (maybe for the vcast music RAZR)
LG switched to T-Flash... woowoo...

yeah i was reading some info and that news looks right 😡 The info i was reading made it sound like they have it set up so contacts can sync with cars that have bluetooth through nav systems and stuff. I know people complained that certain features that were restricted by verizon wouldn't work on their car systems, looks like this will fix that problem, but will not open up full file transfer for the rest of us wanting piuctures, movies, songs through bluetooth. Oh well, looks like bitpim again.

FYi, the Verizon online manual shows the 8300 being paired with a 'computer' under the bluetooth section. Isn't that what we want?

No. No, it's not......because it's not everything. There are a number of Verizon phones that can be paired with a computer and transfer files back and forth.

What we want (or what many want, I should say) is, for the lack of a better term, full OPP functionality; the ability to transfer files (e.g. ringtones, songs, video) from one BT phone to another.

Example: you and your friend both have BT phones. Your friend has a ringtone you would like to have on your phone. If both devices had OPP (without any restrictions), your friend would be able to send (and ...

I understand that Bitpim has met all your needs but that's not really the point. The point is bluetooth is still crippled on the VX8300, at least partially. People buying this phone should be aware of that so they don't wonder why they can't transfer files back and forth with their buddies who have a bluetooth phone with another carrier.

I agree but certainly most ppl on this site expected it would be crippled. It's still a nice phone and I'm looking foward to having it. 🙂
