Any truth to the information I heard that the next firmware upgrade will allow the Q to be used as a modem and now allow the WIFI capabilities of the phone to be used with a mini SD WIFI card? Regards, Tom

CAN YOU HELP ME WITH USING MY Q AS A MODEM?

I HAD THE XV6700 TILL LAST WEEK, LOST IT, AND IT WAS PRETTY SIMPLE TO SET UP AS A MODEM WITH OUT USING VERIZON'S $15 MONTH SERVICE.

I AM ASSUMING THE MODS WILL NOT INVOLVE VERIZON AND PAYING THEM EXTRA $$$?

THANKS IN ADVANCE...
JEFF

Not a Q owner yet, still deciding on it, but if wifi capability is added I might have to go ahead with it. I am almost always around a wifi network, at home or work, and I would love the ability to use the Q on it.

What your looking for would be a
Mini SD wi-fi card
Only one I found so far has not yet been released for public sale.
I found a link for it on MobilityToday.com
Its called
Spectec MiniSD Wi-Fi card (model SDW-822)

So far is only out for a PDA, not yet for a Q.

Keep your eyes peeled I guess.
