Yo im new to the phone world, and i just got a job at a cingular wireless authorized agent store...... right now i got the V551 and thats just not cutting it. i want to get a PDA, but have little knowledge as to whats good and whats not... ive looked at almost everything ( i think) and i like the motorola Q the best... my question is, is this a good first timer PDA phone? or is there something else out there that is better....also if i do get the Q should i wait til the cingular one comes so i dont have to load everything on there?? Thanks for any advice you feel like sharing

The Q is cool and I will be getting it upon its release. It's gonna be a while till the Q is GSM. Basically its up to you to either wait for cingular to get it or get a $45 data plan with VZN and keep cingular for voice calls.

yea i saw its going to be like the end of the year before cingular got it. but i thought you could just load all the cingular stuff to it, and it would already be set up for gsm. i guess i was wrong??? but yea i cant wait that long, got any other suggestions??

thats whats nice about gsm, you can jsut load your contacts with that card.

Only suggestion is to get it and use for data. Or mabye get a job with VZN for discounts?

cdma phones will not work with gsm networks. For my needs, the Q is just right for me. All the other pda phones are just to big for my liking.

With the delays in the verizon Q release and their agreement with moto i'd be suprised if cingular had the Q by the end of the year but i could be wrong. and as far as "the best network" being cingular I beg to differ... I should say that I work for an authorized verizon dealer but at the same time Verizon does have the country's most reliable network, cingular cant say that. but yeah i'm as hyped about the Q as everyone else. just hoping all the back and forth about whether it will support mini-sd wifi cards will turn out that it does, cause that $45 data plan is a killer

yea i dont want to pay the $45/month... but yea i think ill probably go with a different PDA then just sell it when the Q comes out get it... by the way...verizon reception in northwest florida sucks...i had verizon and there Customer Serv. sucks!! plus cingular has the fewest dropped calls, and thats what everyone want to hear... and for the killer.. GSM enough said... hahaha just kidding

but yea here is jsut a few things i want in a PDA
camera/video
WiFi
MP3
the latest microsoft software (2003 is fine)
GSM

thats all i can think of off the top

any suggestions
