Over Rated
I work in the wireless industry and still cannot figure out why so many people want this phone. ya i know its thin buts its wide and tall too, this phone doesnt even have a touch screen can someone please let me in on the big secret as to why everyone wants this phone so bad

I have had the Treo 650 since it first came out. I carry it in my shirt pocket and at 6.3 ounces, it is quite a load. The touch screen is overrated. No writing recognition, and if you use it to dial, it is way too sensitive. It also does a soft reset 4 times a day. Other than these few items, it has been the best phone I've had.
Hopefully, the Q will solve some of these problems and will probably have better voice quality also.

I will agree with you in saying that this is a better phone than the treo 650 but I feel that the Treo 700w is a much better phone than this Moto Q, Have you considered the difficulty of web browsing without the touch screen, what a pain. If its the size you are going for believe me it is no small phone, I have personally held and played with it and it didnt impress me one bit. this phone reminds me of a remodeled Motorola Mpx220 ( which we all know had problems) the ONLY selling point i see in this device is the thinness of it and thats it NOTHING more as I stated before it might be thin but its still tall and wide.

I have to agree that the Treo 700w is a better phone as far as specification go, but you have to agree that the damn thing looks sexy! I've had my 700w since the day it came out for B2B users, I love the phone but I'm sick of seeing treo's styling. They need to come up with a new design, I'm going to get the Motorola Q knowing that I'm going to lose some features and wait for treo to bring out something amazing. It might be a mistake and if it is I have 15 days to return the Q. Risk free... WHY NOT?

One more thing... When I said I'm loosing some features, I do also gain some other great features... Like a much better display, great call quality (key feature to every PHONE). Did I mention it's half as thick and half the weight of the treo. I guess I'm just reaaaaaaaaaaaally eager to get my hands on this thing.

It sucks less than everything else they have..
and from a company like Verizon who is not noted for anything cool or aesthetically pleasing this is quite a coup for them. Kinda makes up for them getting the Razr ten years after everyone else.

It does not suck less than anything verizon has cause the Q sucks more than the Treo 700w and if you look at the specs it is only 2oz lighter than the treo 700 and even though it has an internal antenna it is still taller and wider than the treo (look at the specs). As for the people that say it has better call quality, no one really knows that yet cause few people have used it. As for this phone being "sexy" the friggin keyboard is bigger than the screen that is totally not "sexy" to me. But i guess you guys will have 15 days to figure it out for yourself I for one still cannot figure out why anyone would opt for this phone

The big sale for me is the blue-tooth functionality I use my phone for work and play and the stereo headset will come in handy on my train ride to work each day and the OPP profile will finally give me the ability to have my phonebook downloaded in my car.. Also I will not by the 700w or any other pocket pc phone because of the touch screen. just never found it that great, and I've used every smartphone vzw has had since the Audiovox Thera.

the only reason i came here is to find out what the big deal was about this phone, still i dont know what it is. I guess the A2DP bluetooth feature is cool but if you guys are going for this phone beacause of its size i think you are making a mistake. i hope you guys all enjoy your Moto Q when you guys get them

I'm going for the phone because of all it's features it's a great phone at a great price. The size of the phone is remarkable. I'm guessing you don't like the phone. I think your making a mistake by not realising how thin the phone actually is. The treo is 30% heavier than the Q, the treo is 50% thicker than the Q, and if you add the antenna to the dimensions of the phone the treo is longer than the Q. My point is that it's not BIG the way you try to make it seem like it is. My advice to you is don't get the phone because you obviously have a major problem with it. If you came to this site to find out what the big deal is about the phone and you still haven't found out why it's so great, then i suggest you stop coming to this forum.
