9000 discontinued already?

Dec 22, 2005, 11:51 PM
Went to two different stores, both said the 9000 was just a one-time purchase for sprint and it has been discontinued. I spoke to Sprint telesales who confirmed phone is a "end-of-life" phone. Sales rep said they were shocked since this is a brand new phone and seems to be one of the top rated. Sales rep had no reports of anything faulty, which is why a phone may have such a short lifespan - he also stated there were no internal emails stating this phone was discontinued.

Anyone know what is going on?

I just looked at the Sanyo Mon Jan 2 "06 at a Radio Shack and they have one on display and
the clerk had one of his own!
I was very much impressed with the video evdo quality and camera zoom! He never mentioned
anything about it being discontinued.
I have a Sanyo SCP5500 and I may in the spring
replace it with the MM9000.I am happy with my
current Sanyo5500 but being somewhat of a
"techno-nut " I like the evdo and the mp3 and
miniSD card memory slot.I like Sanyo quality.

emef, Thanks for your reply!!
Everything that I read and I personall viewed this phone at Radio Shack-says that this is an awesome phone!!
I wonder if the speakerphone is full or half duplex such as my present Sanyo SCP 5500. 😁
