i've seen alot of complaints that running programs can't be turned off without 3rd party software. there is a way, it's just kind of a pain.

go into settings under the start menu,

go to system,

click on memory,

under memory, u will find a tab called "running programs",

from there, u can stop programs one by one, or all of them at the same time.

this will free up memory to make ur whole unit run faster.

hope this helps!

thank you for the tip!

that is still quite a lot of clicks.
and if you work with your PDA heavily, you have to repeate it often.
One can also install plugin, the best one is probably Pocket Plus. It automatically closes programs by 'close' icon and has a lot of other usefull features.

Victor

This means you will need to pull up the on-screen keyboard while running each app, then click the "Ctl" button (lower left corner) then the "q" button, and the app will close. You can go to Start | Settings | System Tab | Memory icon | Running Programs tab and see that the apps you closed this way are no longer running.

Much as I regret the necessity of the extra steps, due to the small amount of program memory in this device, it's important for power ...
