I tried Cingular for the past month and on 8/30 returned the Nokia 6230 due to the buttons and screen being to small and tired of waiting in line everytime I went to a Cingular store.

Well I just reactivated my service and bought the new Rokr.

Here is what I think of the phone:

Love everything about it except the ringer volume is not loud. Even the reminder beep for a missed call is very quiet.
AND it is the first Moto I have ever seen without Continental and Classic ring tones. I have missed 3 out of 7 calls in my car with the radio quietly playing.

The E815 I had from VZW blew your ears of ringing as did all of my past Motos.

Spent 45 minutes on the phone with Moto but they couldn't h...

go to cingular.com and there is a category for ringers that will give you some load annoying ringers. Another thing is you can have your ringer adjusted so that it rings up to 6-7 times before going to voice mail, the default is 3-4. Just contact Cingular, and tell them you need your ringer length adjusted, if that doesn't help, you can always activate the call forwarding feature in the phone. Select "if not availabe" or "no reply" and have the calls forwarded to your voicemailbox #.

It's not the number of rings I have a problem with at all. It is the volume of the ringer.
The Rokr is not loud when it rings and the normal ringers in any Motorola are not in the Rokr.

do some serching on google for "Motorola Seem Edit"

I did this with my Moto A630. The volume sucked. What you can do is edit the seem file. By doing this you can change the gain settings. Much like the gain on a car amplifier, if you car stero volue is at 4 and you turn the gain up, the volume will increase. This is how the seem edit works. In the seem file I believe the preset is either 2 or 3. You can move the gain all the way to 8. I DO NOT reccommend 8 tho becuase it will blow the speaker. 4 is a good setting.

You can change the gain settings for the speaker on the outside, the earpiece, and a few more I just can't remember them. Just remember if you change the gain setting on your earpiece more than setting 4 you will start to hea...

come on... it may void your warranty.... If you change it to high and it sounds bad, just change it back... it's not like your phonw will freeze or anything. You are opening a file and chainging a value from 2 to 4 then saving it.

I have done it hundreds of times.
