Motorola RAZR V3c
New Razr and Motorola phone tools 4.0
Just got my Razr v3c from Alltel last Wednesday - I love it!.
I've been reading some comments on here from people that haven't been able to sync their Razr with Motorola phone tools and transfer pics and such. I had at first just MPT version 3 - 3.22 and 3.28 or something - after I clicked update and downloaded the 52Mb update to Mpt 4.0 - everything works great! I did however have to call Alltel tech support and have them reset something with the account programming and then repower on the phone so that I could access 'Axcess'so that I could download games.
Hope this helps any new users. Great phone so far - we'll see in 6 months how it holds up.

verizon users are the ones that can't transfer pics. it is disabled for verizon users(it will tell you this on the mobile phone tools site in fine print). verizon wants all the "get it now" money.

This is how I got mine to work. Make sure you have MPT 4.0. If you do go from step 2 on. This is a copy of a post by Greyboy, all credit goes to him.

Ok, Im going to give you step by step directions because nobody gave them to me and it bothered me alot
1. Check which version you are running. If you are running anything less than 4.0 then update.
- To find out which version you are using - choose the menu from the picture of the e815m in MPT - then go to help.
- if you are using a version less than 4.0 - go to the menu again, and chose setup, update. run through the update with its default settings
2. Ok, go to the menu again, Setup, General Setup ...

This truly does work. I have a v3c with verizon and it seems to work seemlessly. I noticed someone asked about software version for the razr. How do u tell which one? 🙂

So I did all that and I got MPT to give me the option for Multimedia Studio, but MPT still can't communicate with my phone when I try to upload a ringtone or wallpaper to my phone. I have F/W v.03. If that is what my problem is how do find v.02 and then how do I flash my phone to "downgrade" it? Thank you.

I also want to know how to do this _if possible_ ... I've called 2 stores and visited one and all of them state that you cannot "downgrade" to .02.

Actually you can downgrade to v .02. It will require a flash, but there's an even easier way to get the MMS portion of phone tools to work with v .03- You just need to do a seem edit. I can help you with that if you need it.

I'm still a newb in terms of seem edits. I was able to get the actual flash file of .02 and there's a program named RSD_Lite 1.9.1 that will allow you to flash the phone. But I'm hesitant in doing this since i just got hte phone after porting from Cingular. I mean, I wish Verizon would just do it when I asked them but they're just being so f'n annoying.

I tried changing the phone in the latest MPT but am unable to use the multimedia function. The two boxes where one would click to transfer files from the PC to phone or vice versa are grayed out.
My phone has the latest .03 software. Is this the reason? Is there another workaround? Please help! Thanks.
