Has anyone tried doing this? That would be pretty cool to have access to your gmail account through your razr.

Anyone know how it works as far as using the "data plan"? I have unlimited txt, pix and flix messaging I think - does that include internet access? is that the data plan they are referring to?

any suggestions would be appreciated

Sorry to say, the 5,10,and 15$ unlimited "In" data is only for text, pix, and flix only. I pretty sure only mobile web 2.0 supports gmail. Mobile web is 5 bucks a month and uses your airtime(Which Sucks! 😢 ), unless... you use the internet on your phone when your unlimited nights begins. 😁

I thought VZW still charged air-time minutes for web during night and weekend periods.

so in order to use the web (ie check your gmail etc...) you have to pay a fee AND use minutes?

if thats the case thats kind of horrendous.

You either pay a monthly fee of $15.00 (your first month is free) or you use minutes.

ahh thats cool I guess.

I guess the most important question is whether or not those minutes count even if it is after 9pm or on the weekend (aka free nights and weekends).

I think earlier in this thread someone mentioned they dont believe online time is free no matter if its peak or nights and weekend - Does anyone know for sure?

Hopefully they are free on the weekend

I appreciate the response, but Im trying to figure out whether nights and weekend minutes count towards your minutes, or if those are free (this is if I choose not to get the vcast plan)

I probably wont use it enough to want to pay 15 a month (for vcast and unlimited web) but Id like to use it here and there and would use it more on the nights and weekends if it was free.

thanks

Or you can subscribe to VCast for $15 per month and not use any minutes for mobile web.

I have the Razr and gmail is available on it. The unlimited pix and text is verizon only so that is not included. For $15.00 a month you can get vcast and that will include all your web time. Even dowloading music and games so you will not have to use your minutes to be on the web.

Okay, say you subscribe to the 5 dollar mobile web, the only time they will use your peak airtime is during your regular peak time, and when you use the web after 9 or when your night starts, it's totally free, including the weekends, so mon-fri 9pm-6am it's free to use the web, and from fri at 9pm all weekend will monday morning at 6am it's free as well. And Jeni thanks for the input on the vcast, I don't know if vzw deducts airtime if you have the vcast package. So I hope this cleared things up for you Greyboy. And if I am wrong you can smack me. 😉 LOL! but seriously, I have the 5 dollar mobile web and I use it only during my offpeak, because I only use it for about two hours a month.

Peak time is not deducted with vcast. That was the only reason why I purchased it because I am not in a vcast (evdo) area, but I do use the web and download a lot. Nobody's smakin' you. 😉 You know what your talking about. lol 🙂
