Some question regarding MPT and Mp3 Ringtones for Razr V3c

Dec 27, 2005, 2:43 PM
Hi guys,

I finally connected MPT with my new Razr (thanks again Greyboy). But I had few more questions to ask.

First of all, I found out that the phonebook function worked only having the phone as V3c from the CDMA list, and the multimedia function working only as V3 from the GSM list. Is this correct or am I the only one who gets this?

Second question that I have is about the ringtones that I can use for razr v3c.

I'd like to know which formats, size, and bit rates of the music clips would be the best to use.

For example,

mp3, wav, mid, wma, wmv, mmf etc.

How long?

Bit Rates?
I think I read somewhere that it works best as 48kbits/44kHz/Mono. Can anyone check with me?

And which folder does it needs to b...

One more question guys,

Is it possible to add a contact using MPT without the speeddial?

Thanks in advance,

Best ringtone format:
midi (.mid)
Mode: 0-Constant(CBR)
Min Bitrate: 32b
I first use Audacity to select to part of the .mp3 I want, save it as a WAV file.
I then use FreeRip to convert the file to the above and save it again (as mp3). Then I change the extension to mid.

Can anyone advise how to get a ringtone from my computer to v3c? Have mpt latest ver, software on v3c is 03. MPT will not let me change the phone in the set up all I can do with MPT is manage contacts. Can I e mail a ring tone to the phone? If so can someone advise procedure. Never tried it?
