Record new Tune Muffled

I tried to record a new ringtone from my computer, but its incredibly quiet and muffled when i play it back...Is this deliberate from verizon?

I noticed the same thing on my RAZR. Turning the speakerphone on was the only way to make it loud like the other rings. Maybe the new software update will fix this as well.
