If I was to buy Retail, Is it $419 with a rebate or is there a rebate minus that price? Hopefully yes...who knows this?

According to Verizon customer service there is no rebate to existing loyal customers who want to purchase the phone and are not eligible to upgrade. $419.00 plus tax!

That's the same boat I was in. I wasn't eligible to upgrade and made several attempts to get an approval for one thru Customer Service including escalating to a supervisor. I got the same answer, NO. The best offer they gave me is a $50 credit towards my bill if I buy full retail at $419. I ended up upgrading my dads phone to the razr, then I will flip-flop the ESN to my account. I don't believe there is any rebate if paying full retail. I love my VZW service, however VZW has become a bit like Time Warner, they know their service is superior and don't negotiate. I have been a good VZW customer for 5 years.

You can change your own ESN on line. When the phone is received, you go on line and activate the ESN to your phone. In this case, I am going to login my vzw account online and change my ESN to the new phone. Very Easy. You can change your ESN anytime if you get equip from another source. After you change the ESN you simply dial *228 to program and it will put your # in the phone.

You can change the ESN even though the new phone is from someone elses account? I guess like what you are doing. Thanks for your help.

Verizon will tell you that when you buy at full-retail you are not eligible for the mail-in-rebate, but that is not true. Mail-in-rebates are from the manuf. not Verizon and every single full-retail phone I have bought (I have bought a lot as I change phones frequently) I have been told there is no rebate and they will not give me the form. I simply got to Verizon Wireless's website on the rebate page: www.verizonwirelessrebates.com, fill out the online rebate form, mail in all neccessary info (UPC, receipt) and mail it in and have ALWAYS recieved my rebate!

from looking at the rebate form... it looks like there is $100 mail in rebate but that rebate is only with activation. i am not sure about the retail rebates because the rebate form goes through verizon rebate center and if they can not confirm the receipt you end up not getting the rebate check.
ex: ebay auction receipt 😁
but i think you'll end up getting the rebate, long as your receipt is dated during rebate offer.
