I steal music. That is just what I do. Windows media player 10 will not work on my OS because I don't use a common platform. I am very tech savvy. I just purchased a 950 and was not told about the confines of verizon's corporate Nazism. My questions are

1. I know that the WMA file is 64 kbps, what are the other file specs? like **Hz and **bits

2. The "player error" message either comes from the wrong WMA format or my lack of licence to own the file (I steal music). I loaded a song that has a valid windows media licence and it gave me a invalid licence message??

3. Does verizon automatically update the software on your phone?

4. Does anyone give a sh*t that microsoft and verizon's forced usage of their software has given a...

i understand your pain. i understand the pain of not wanting to buy DRM'd music because either you don't believe in it, or because you want to be sure your music plays back on as many devices as possible.

as a mac user (gasp!) i also understand the pain of verizon now saying that in order to play music on one of their phones, you MUST have windows media player on a PC. they have effectively abandoned us.

although i cannot offer you any solutions as to how to buy a new verizon phone on which you can play back your music, i can tell you that some record labels actually think that drm'd music is unfair as well. many of them have gathered together on bleep.com to sell their music as unprotected mp3s. if you genuinely like music, why not ac...
