Which is suggested?
I am curious which will give me the ability to transfer music, pics, videos, etc. Sound slike the Verizon kit is only for music transfer?

also where do I find Bitpim and how much does it run?

Thanks in advance for all/any help!!!

Music Essentials kit is for just that-music. Bitpim is free and can be downloaded here:

The cable from Verizon's music Essentials does not work with BitPim. The only place I've found a950 OEM cables so far is ebay.

The Samsung OEM cable is part number PCB113VBEB/STD. I've seen it on Ebay and in Yahoo shops for anywhere from $6.00 to $24.00, but it is usualy just the cable. You will have to download the driver and BitPim (both free) yourself.

The only package I found that included drivers was the Mobile Action Handset Manager - Cable, Drivers, and their own software. Runs around $20-$45. I am not sure if the Moble Action cable will work with the BitPim software, but their software claims it can handle Sound, Music, Video, and file transfer.

Have you actually connected with BITPM yourself? Were you able to get contacts sync'd? Which drivers did you use?

Thanks,
-Jon

I was told that I could take some downloaded music from my CD and rip them apart to come up with my own true tone ringers. Does anyone know how to do this?

You can e-mail MP3's to your phone as an attachment and send to your10digitnumber@vzwpix.com. Then go to your inbox, open the message, select options, then save to sounds, then go to my_sounds, select it then choose options again and then choose "set as" to use as either default ringtone or contact ringtone.
