Question bout website
Why is it that the website has two dif 9800's listed when you look for a phone? I just got one and i was wondering if they were dif. and had dif. features or they were the same...please let me know..also what is the newest software version on this phone and how do you tell which it has..thanks

There is only 1 vx9800 but it has 2 different versions. there is v.1 and v.2. If you recently bought your phone it has version 2.
You can check to make sure by doing this.
menu > settings & tools > System > device info > SW version >
Where it says.....
SW Version
R98VZV02
Look at the last three numbers and letters. If it says v02, you have version 2. V01 you have version 1.

Well mine is a version one and i was wondering if i have all my mp3's on my card, and i go and have it flashed to the second version..would my mp3's still play if i go in the secret menu..another thing is would i benefit from having it flashed or just leave it...thanks

Ohhh I would just make a back up folder. Just take all of your songs on your mini sd and put them in a folder. Then go get your phone flashed. But first TAKE OUT THE SD. Don't have them flash it with the sd inside.

If you have your phone flashed you will lose direct capability to play mp3's. However if you go through what everyone is calling the "secret menu", you can set the phone to "mp3 and mod", allowing your phone to read both wma format and mp3 format. If you have no intentions on using the wma format (windows media converted files) then there is no need for the software update it may confuse you when trying to get songs to work and play.
