My wife just bought a LG 9800 from Verizon and I got her a 512 mini-SD for it. She loaded it up with mp3s and now can't figure out how to play them on her phone. I need help desperately, I'm not too far off from throwing it against the wall!!! ๐Ÿ˜ก The instruction book sucks as far as telling you how to play the files, let alone, just access the card. HELP PLEASE!!!

If the MP3 player is unlocked on your phone simply:
1. Get tunes and tones
2. select: My MP3s (bottom option) and press OK
3. the mp3s should show up and simply press play (the OK key) ๐Ÿ˜Ž

if the mp3 player is not enabled, ๐Ÿ˜ก you must enable it by -->
1. pressing the (ok) key
2. enter 0 (it will ask you for the service code.
3. enter 000000
4. browse down to (music setting)press OK
5. select (mp3 enable) - a confirmation dialogue box should shop up stating :"mp3 enabled" ๐Ÿ‘€
then you should be good to go. ๐Ÿ™„

Can't do it anymore, Verizon crippled the SD card, You have to download all media from Verizon only, phone will not recognize data that you loaded to card.. I don't know of any hacks yet for the NEW LG9800, give it some time, someone will build a hack

What are you talking about dog1phil, I just got my 9800 like a couple of months ago and my mini sd a month ago, it works.

Anyways if the songs are already on there, when the phone is closed simply push the "up" soft key and if its open push "right" soft key then push ok when its on tunes & tones, then scroll down to my mp3's and click ok.

Hi all,

I just got my 9800 yesterday and was up allmost all night trying to get it to play mp3's. I found this forum and read Ashaneen's post and tried that. Still no music. I copied files both in folders and single files to the root of the my mp3 and my music folders on the mini sd card. the phone sees the wma's but when I try to play one, I get the message "player error". ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

Can some one help me??? ๐Ÿคญ

Thanks much,

Scopefreak, do you use a USB cord or a card reader to get the songs on?

First you have to open up the music directory file. like for limewire this would be it.
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Shared

After that you need to either hook your phone up to the usb or put your mini sd in your card reader.

Then open up the file with my pix, my filx, my mp3's, my mp3 playlist, and my sounds.(If it doesn't automatically pop up, you can find it in the c drive, or under removeable storage.)

Open folder called my mp3's then transfer the songs from your music directory file by dragging them into my mp3's folder.

That should work but if it doesn't then...
Try shortening the file name.
make sure mp3's are in the .mp3 format.

Hi jmdizzle,

Thanks SOOOO much!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

I cleared everything from the mini sd and then re-initialized it. Put it in the card reader of my laptop, found a couple of tunes to try, shortened thier file names, put back in phone and they play!!!!!

What a pain in the rear to have to change all those file names. ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ‘€

Does anyone have a quick way to change file names enmasse?? ๐Ÿคจ

Thanks VERY much,

Thanks very much.

As a matter of fact, I read something about some conversion software called GRV or 3Rv or something. Do you know what this stuff does?

I don't know what those programs do but, 3_gpp converter makes the movies the right size to fit on your phone. I also have a dvd ripping program. if you want those I can send you the zip file or post the links.
