Very interesting. I wonder what an 'updated version' of this phone consists of. I really like the V (even though I do not own one), but it was its bulkiness that was a bit of a turn off for me.

Think something less bulky is what they have in mind?

I may not own the 9800 yet, but in about 1 month July 8th I will. I mean other than it being a little bulkly, what else could they change on the phone. It's currently the only phone that has the lithium plolymer battery on it.

By looking at the FCC website, it appears that the phone will be released around November. All the way to the right, it gives the release date of the User Manual and things like that date is November 2006. Check it out!! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

I spoke with a verizon rep who deals with authorized agents. She said it appeared the keyboard would be closer to a slider than a flip; like the Audiovox XV6700.

Even though they might be coming out with the V2, it doesn't make a difference because in my opinion, i dont think it'll have many different features on it that the V doesn't have. I'm getting the 9800 in a few weeks and I couldn't be happier.
