The screen hurts my eyes.
I bought a VX-9800 last week and it is a really feature packed phone. But I have noticed that the inside screen (actually, it is both screens) hurts my eyes. It is because of the way that LG mounted the screens. While watching the screen straight on, the light coming from it gradually increases from left to right. Tilt it to the left and it is darker. Tilt it to the right and it is brighter. Now, being a mammal with binocular vision, this creates a problem, that actually is created in the brain. While looking at the screen, the left eye is seeing a different amount of light than the right eye is. Normally when you look at something, each eye receives about the same amount of light, but in this case, it isn't, and this is what hurts my eyes. ...

do you wear glasses or contacts and/or have poor vision? if you do this might have an effect on how you see the screen through your glasses lenses or contacts. the only other reason i could think of why you have this problem is you just might have ultra sensitive eyes. hope this helps

I have 20/20 vision. I know exactly the reason, which I explained. I took the phone back yesterday and got a VX-8100. No problem with its screen. I guess I do have sensitive eyes. Before I bought the VX-9800, I looked at one at the store and I noticed immediately the screen orientation, but I hoped that it wouldn't be a problem. It was. Oh, well. It's over now.

I have the 9800 as well and I did notice that too. I just turned of the backlight and that took care of it for me..... Maybe give it a try.
