Just thought I would mention the one reason I stuck with my 8100 is you will have to lock your phone all the time so it doesn't constantly call all your friends while it's in your pocket. BOOOOO 9800, 8100 RULES (and cheaper)

I went into my local Verizon store today to thoroughly check out the 9800. I have the 8100 too, and although I LOVE it, I wanted to check out this new latest and greatest and compare and see if maybe I would like it better. Well, the key lock was one of the reasons I didn't! Everything is flip-phone now! I hated that when I had a "candy bar" phone I had to use key lock then press buttons to un-lock every time I wanted to make a call. I realize it's only a couple of buttons, but when you make a lot of calls, it sucks. Especially when you forget and start to dial then get pi$$ed when you realize it's locked! And if you avoid that by not locking it, then you keep pressing buttons or calling contacts!!!!!!!!!!!

didn't know it was so complicated to hit a few buttons
so...you would have liked this phone better with either
no outside buttons or screen...just a flip qwerty keypad...or basically a flip blackberry

or 2 flips...one to hide the qwerty and one to cover the outside keypad
jeez...its not that hard
the phone does things phones double its price doesn't do...so its an impressive device overall

YEAH MARY you tell them, that's what I thought you do get frustrated with phone lock, I say if you don't text ALOT then get the 8100 does the exact same stuff. (This is my opinion so nobody get mad.)

Personally, I think the 8100 is terribely ugly. This phone doesn't look amazing in its candy bar style - mediocre, maybe on par with the 8100 about, but the flip is so unique I love it.

As for the unlock... on this phone, it is set to automatically lock so you don't have to do it manually, and its only the "OK" button you have to hit to unlock it. I'm not saying that to say you are wrong, just to show that I think its an improved "locking" system as opposed to the old hit * then some numbers to unlock and lock it every single time.
