Hey all- What about the mp3 device on here?- can u upload mp3's onto the phone and how many can u add- hows the sound quality. I heard the camera was perfect- but other than the mp3 player and the IM- T-mobiles sidekick 2 looks better- Who would use the v-cast? I mean for what?- can u put ur own uploaded video clips on there? Trust- I dont want to sound like an enemy of the phone lol- because I almost went crazy when I found out my baby Verizon was comin with somethin better than a SK2, but I mean is it really worth it.
From what I hear- your emails come every hour and ur IMS a charged if- and the only thing u get garunteed is a mp3 player- a camera and a phone.

I am sure the mp3 will work as well as the one on the 8100 which is sweet. Amount of songs will depend on the size of the mini sd you throw on there, and yes you can put your on videos, they just need to be converted to specific format,(again check out how to do this on the 8100 forum) I am sure the sound will be excellant if it is half as good as the 8100 speakers it will be great. Vcast also gives you unlimited webbrosing and email access through mobile we aitime free, and you will not use airtime with any gin downloads if your into playing multiplayer games like asphault urban gt mulytiplayer.

I don't have my 9800 yet but I can agree with you in that the 8100 sounded pretty darn good. My only gripe with the MP3 player is that it would not bookmark your location in a file. I listen to a lot of podcasts and bookmarking is a necessity.

There is a pointer to a Howard's Forum article on converting video to the phone streaming format. I have successfully downloaded TV shows and played them on my 8100 without any trouble. I simply let the phone format my CD card then loaded the card up from my computer into the appropriate folders (the artile details this). Check http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=6887 05 for the link to the 8100 article. I would be willing to bet that the process will be similar for the 9800.

It does sound great and the EQ is cool (and you can actually hear the difference).

When you format your mini SD on the phone, it will create directories for you (my_music) - drop your MP3s there.

I was loading up several MP3s last night and had some file error (can't read) issues. I had some mixed at 128k, 160k, and 192k (all MP3 unprotected) and all ripped by iTunes. Some work and some don't - even at the same sample rate.

Go figure.
