For those who use headsets (wireless or corded, I don't have a preference)...

Could you please post your recommendations for a good headset to go with the 6101?

Hi All,

No one here uses headsets? This is the final remaining question that I have and I have gotten little to no response ☹️ ...

i use the NOKIA STEREO HEADSET "HS - 8"

i like it, i can listen to the radio with it and it works really well. it has a clip that will attach to my shirt and the mic must work really well because people say they can hear me really well too.. the earphones are the part that kinda gets to me...but i can deal with it. they are just bulky.

Oledad, have you tested this headset with the phone driving on the highway or in noisy environments?

Does the headset block out the noise pretty well so that the person you're talking to hears YOU and NOT the noise?

Thanks.

Yes, i have..they said they hear me very well. I clip the mic on my shirt right below my mouth though, so i guess that helps a lot lol..

Thanks. I'm looking for a new phone, and I don't need all the bells & whistles. I just want a phone that has good reception, audio quality, and one that blocks out background noise (cuz my car is kinda loud) & my previous Sony Ericsson phones have been horrible at this.

Thanks again.

You like the 6101 pretty well then?

well i have the 6102, but they are essentially the same phone, and YES i love this phone with a passion...ive gotten used to the call volume which everyone complains about, all you have to do is hold it lower on your ear than other phones.

Yeah I would be getting the 6102 (Cingular). I'm just kinda worried about the volume. My hearing's not that great anyways, my car is kinda loud, and so many people say that it's too low. Not a great combination for me.

I'm waiting for the SE z520 in hopes the background issue is finally fixed. If not, I may return it and get the 6102. So if you DON'T hold the phone on the right spot, is the volume that low?

Also, does the phone really stay at the same menu once you have closed the phone?

Thanks.

well if you have it set on Full volume, and u got it to your ear, it doesnt have to be exact, just lower on your ear that other phones ive had, and its loud enough for me, my truck is a '92 ford with a v6 so its pretty loud as well.

and yes it does stay at the same thing you close the phone as, there might be a way to change it, but i actually like it sometimes.

What complaints, if any, do you have about the phone?

I've been meaning to write a review, ive had it for a couple weeks now, i think imma wait one more week and then write a good review.

but here are my complaints so far...

probably my biggest complaint, NEEDS MORE MEMORY!!!

Small buttons, on the 6101 they were larger, why would they get smaller? isnt the point of making a newer phone to improve upon its design?

i wish it had a way to put it in silent mode while the phone was still closed, even though my lg l1200 was a piece of ****, i could hold down the volume rocker and it would silence the phone. I know you can voice activate profiles, but still, thats a little much when the point is to be quite lol...

vibrate is a little weaker than im used to.

no place to put rope carri...

Much appreciated, oledad. Of the things you mentioned, I think the keypad bothers me the most. On Nokia's website, they state "buttons for humans, not mice"--and this is even for the 6102. They might be accurate if this quote was for the 6101; I don't know WHY they made the keys smaller for the 6102.

I too am looking for a stronger vibrate on my phone (miss some calls when I forget to unsilence my phone).

I'll be waitin for that review!
