Never an all-around good phone
I think they deliberately not producing a very good, all around phone. I am sure they are not stupid and know what we want.
They make phones that are “good but something is missing”, so we are buying one phone, throw it out and buy another one, and so on. We have to play a catch up with a developing technology, so they know that we will be doing it. If we had an all-around good phone, it would stick for a while. (Like StarTEC for example did – there was an era of StarTEC phone, wasn’t? I had it for almost 4 years)
But that’s not what they want, they want us to buy phones as kids need toys, every quarter – a new one.

It's all part of the scam. People just need to make sure they don't get caught up in it. Use your head and decide what is most important in the phone you want and don't get sucked into 'you want to be cool and need the latest tech stuff' scam.

It’s not that I need the latest. I need the most convenient. And some new models are, to me. The new features, like FM, often are part of what makes the phone more convenient. My point was that they always leave something out to keep us in the state of “unsutisfaction”. This is what the covert tactic is.

i want a phone that has the following:
flip (i have always had sticks, but i'd like to try a flip)
camera - don't need a flash but it would be nice
mp3 player
expandable memory would be nice too
vibrate
850 so i can use it on cingular
why is it so hard to find a good phone that does all this for cingular?

Flash would be nice? No u need a flash because what sort of camera is it with no flash, these days it should be mandatory.
Also i would would like a flip or a cool slider, no candybars thats for sure. Also needs to be light in weight, no bricks.
Speakerphone, customizable ringtones, edge, mp3player, memory, and usb.
Megapixel or PTT would be nice.
Now the Samsung D600 would be nice for cingular.
So until then Cingular is below-par.
