Nokia 6101 / 6102
Few questions regarding Locked & Unlocked phones
I really like the look of the Nokia 6101 better than the 6102. Would it be worth my wild to get the unlocked 6101 rather than buying one that is already branded thru Cingular? Who has the 6101 USA version for sale or when does it come out? (there are 2 on the expansysus.com website and I think the usa version is available; not sure)
Thank you so much
(i don't know if i trust buying a 6101 on ebay; not sure if its 850/1800/1900 or 900/1800/1900)
Lastly, I wasn't able to download...

I actually have the Asian version of the 6101 and it works perfect for me. I have T-Mobile as my carrier. I don't think there's going to be much difference as far as the USA version is concerned. Maybe the ringtones and that's it. I like getting an unbranded phone b/c I don't have to worry about the carrier putting all their undeleteable ringtones, wallpapers and screensavers on it taking up precious memory space.
I'm not sure if the USA version is for sale yet. I've seen some USA companies selling the phone, but it may be the overseas version that they are selling. I would keep checking the Nokia website and when they finally start selling it, surf around to other websites to see who has the best price.
And yes, you can download...

Quick question; when the NokiaUSA website starts selling the 6101 phone, which online companies might be selling the USA version and would that company tell me the truth that it's a USA version or try to sell me the Asian version?
There is a small Nokia kiosk in a nearby mall & I'll find out for everyone on this site on 8/6/5 when the 6101 USA version and 6102 will be available to the states.
Thanks
You know what, I can't answer that. In the world of internet commerce, you can't tell. You can email the vendor and ask what the language choices are on the phone. Then you'll know. Whether or not he'll be honest, I don't know. If you pay with a credit card, I think you might have a case to get your money back if they're dishonest.
My phone, besides english, only provides three other asian languages. The last Nokia I got directly from T-Mobile had French and Spanish.
I noticed on the Nokia website that they have finally posted accessories for the 6101/6102, so that only means that they'll have it within weeks.
