Okay it says six hours talk, and eleven days standby, with minimal use my phone can barely make it three days. Anybody else? In fact the last three days I might have used it for five minutes.

Put it on the charger when it gets low. That should solve any battery issue

Agreed.......................... 🤣

The must have left that out of the manual, "if battery gets low, place it in charger"......

I operate on a rule in cases like this, if the manual says 6 hours talk time, it actually means 3 hours............I believe if you use enough phones, you'll find that to be more along the lines of "reality", than the eutopian manual leads you to believe......... 😈

This is my 4th Nokia phone not my first, and all others said 4 hours talk time and only 7 days of standby, and all consistently would only need to be charged once a week. I was wondering if my particular phone sent to me might have a battery problem, since this phone is stated to have a longer battery life than my others, but consistently only makes half of that. I simply just wanted to know if everyone else was getting more time on their battery and if I had a lemon, NSS about putting it on the charger when low. 👿

Well I may get flamed too but, when you say "minimal " use what do you mean?

Do you talk five minutes a day a and play absolutley no games. Do you check email once a day? Do you have the email set to check email automaticaly? Do you surf the web? Do you use as a bluetooth modem for internet connection? Do you watch any video clips, if so how long? Do you listen to music at all and if so, for how long?

See, you don't really give any indication of your usage other than a very general "minimal", and then you expect an intelligent response. Don't be mad, they didn't have much else

If your answer to most of the above questions was, "no" or "hardly every" and you use your phone about 5 minutes a day(minimal in my opinion), then I sugge...

The last sentence in my question stated. "In fact in the last three days I might have used the phone for 5 minutes." I would say that tells you that I used the phone for five minutes in three days, even if you thought it meant 5 minutes each of the three days, you said that would be minimal to you. I assume if you read that sentence then you had the answer to your whole question. I just recieved the phone and it still has all the presets for screen saver etc. Have been through a busy time and have not even set up e-mail yet.

well Cingular did not test this phone well enough in my opinion. Sorry about your misfortune. 😢

The easiest place to start, would be the battery......... you may want to try another battery, OR you could try getting another phone through warranty exchange, it may have the "new firmware" on it.........

Keep in mind, in any line of product you have a "lemon" or two.....doesn't make the whole lot bad, but for the person holding it, it's sour.......

5 min use in 3 days doesn't sound right. I can usually go 3 days will average use. 1 day if I'm checking email every 20 or 30 min.

Here's my average daily usage:

Bluetooth connected all day, everyday (job requirement).
Calls = roughly 100 min.
Music (mp3, mobiradio) = 30 min.
Email, MEdianet = 45 min.
Camera/Video rec.&playback - 15 min.

Settings: Brightness FULL, Screensaver- 1 min, Lights out- 1 min.

With this scenario, my battery will last 1 1/2 days w/o charge. Aside from that, I charge it nightly. Hopefully this gives you a good reference on how long your should last.

When I first got my phone (with the buggy firmware/64mb sim card), it lasted exactly six hours +/- 2 min.) of talk time - while using HS-850 bluetooth headset. Both died right about the same time, in fact. I know, because I had a 6-hour conversation with my fiancee' when I got home from work that day. :-) (Thank goodness for unlimited M2M.)

Now, it seems to last around 5 hours of talk time, and the HS-850 only gets around 3-4 hours.

My fiancee's Moto died today after being charged overnight, with no talking. That's a battery issue, for sure. Sounds like yours is, too. I'd go for the warranty exchange. If the new phone doesn't have the new firmware, return it but swap out the battery (if they'll let you do that).
