Question.....

I'm currently a verizon subscriber, but most of my friends have cingular. For the most part, every knows that verizon's phones suck, but there coverage is the best. Then from there, everyone has a different opinion. I have narrowed my search to either switch to Cingular or stay with Verizon. I've heard many complaints about Cingular, which includes the reception being so-so. I just wanted to know, with the Nokia 6682 (which everyone says has great reception), is the coverage actually pretty good with Cingular or is it just a little better then so-so?? Any and all opinions are greatly appriciated... Thanks...

I recently got my 6682, migrating over from Verizon. Sure I had an old Motorola phone from Verizon, but reception was absolutely horrific. I had dropped calls all the time and sometimes no reception. I could barely use the phone at my work. With the 6682 on Cingular, I have had maybe one or two dropped calls in two months, and those could have been the other party's fault. I always have full reception at work. My boss has Verizon and sometimes gets lousy reception there as well as scratchy calls elsewhere.

btw, I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area. I even get reception down in the underground subway stations in San Francisco! This phone's reception feels totally solid.

Since your friends all have cingular, check with them for service coverage.

I did, but like I said in my original posting, the reviews vary and I realize that a big part of that is which phone you use. That's why I wanted to get reviews opinions on the reception of the 6682.... 😉

Thanks arajara for the info.... 🙂

it all depends on area like everyone is saying... the phone (nokia 6682) is great... granted it has it's issues but those are easy to work around and will be fixed... check your area for service because it all comes down to your area... but as far as providers... it's cingular or verizon... no one else is really worth it.
