I've owned my 6682 now for almost a month. At first, I had no problems at all...no disappearing call log problems or anything. Now, the phone turns itself off in the middle of the night, the earpiece volume always resets it self to the lowest setting after every call, and bluetooth turns itself off and on whenever it wants. I switched from a Treo 650 (which had more than its fair share of problems) to the 6682...and while the 6682 is a better phone in my opinion, the problems that are starting to creep up are concerning me. Any opinions?

dare you say...dont let the other goons here you say this...they will shun you for speaking negatively of such a " PERFECT " phone đ

This is my second 6682. The first one arrived DOA right out of the box. Maybe I shouldn't say totally DOA...as it would power up and you could use it...until you tried to make a call. It couldn't get a carrier signal at all....ever! So LetsTalk.com shipped me out a new phone. That phone has been fine until the last week. So, it worked great for a couple of weeks...now it's going a little wacko.
Here's a summary of my problems:
- phone turns itself off in the middle of night, even if plugged into a power supply.
- voice tags are lost randomly
- bluetooth turns itself off whever it wants to
- earpiece volume resets to lowest setting after every call

well mine once the battery died the first time it would not take a charge and cingular told me it was on backorder for 2 months...so I just decided to get my money back...still waiting for a refund and it has been 2 weeks and counting...what phone are you using now?
...
I'm still using the 6682. I'm on the phone now with Nokia...they say I should send them in the phone for repair. Shipping is paid for by me! Nice. The phone goes to Melbourne, FL for repair...5 business days.

Ask them are they 100% positive it should go to Florida and not to Texas? They say 5 days, but don't be surprised if it takes at least 2 weeks.
...
I'm in Texas...and based on my zipcode, she said it was going to Florida for that particular phone.
...
well that makes sense

well good luck to ya laddie, you have much more patience than me...I am gonna hold out until tmob carries it...

I decided to give a 32k SIM card a try to see if that helps. The Cingular store didn't have 32k SIM cards in stock locally, but they put one on order for me and it will be here Tue. No charge for the card...which I like because I would at least be out the shipping to Nokia if I sent it in for repair. I hope this fixes the problem, if not, I'll hold out for a firmware fix. I'm not ditching the phone, even with it's problems, it's the best smartphone I've ever owned...much better than my old Treo 650!
...
well I wish I could have been as lucky
...
What should I tell them if I want them to give me a 32k sim? Did you tell them that you visited this forum and that it seemed like it would fix some of your problems? Did they know about the issue?
...
First off, you have to find a Cingular store where the staff is clueless....which shouldn't be that hard! There's a new store about 2 blocks from me. I walk in...and the guy is holding a clip board that tells him how to greet customers!! I say "I need a 32k SIM because my phone doesn't like the 64k SIM." His expression was like a deer staring into headlights...so he gets the manager of the hour. I tell him the same thing. He says, "I don't have any in stock 'cause we're moving to 64k, but I'll get you one." He hops on the computer and says "it will be here on Mon./Tue. $5 charge normally, but don't worry about it." That's all it took. Didn't say anything to him about the forum...and he hadn't actually seen a 6682 yet (he wanted to see mine!)...

coltwest:
I have flipped burgers, sold shoes and have been employed at Cingular/SBC/Ameritech for ten yrs.
I offered to send Icyhot a 32k sim when he needed one and was about to extend you the same courtesy, but then I read your last post.
Good luck.
...
Notice I didn't say anyone flipped burgers and worked at Cingular at the same time! So you are the exception to the rule. Obviously, there are intelligent people working at some Cingular stores...it's just been my experience that they are few and far between...and certainly not where I live. Therefore, you are a credit to your company just by monitoring this forum!

Colwest,
I work at cingular also, but all the people I talk to can't or WON'T get me access to a 32k sim, could you be so kind as to extend the courtesy, that you were going to extend to mr. aprout????? I am in the west market, if you have access to any Sims for that market, I would greatly appreciate your assistance....
Thanks,

I think you have the names a bit mixed up lol. It is aprout who has the sim, not coltwest.

Icyhot,
You are indeed correct, I'm hoping that aprout will overlook my error, I'll claim temporary deminished mental capacity on the vicks nyquil I had to use. In any even "apout" if you could be so kind as to procure a 32k Sim that will work in the west region mrkt, and provide it to me, I would be very greatful. I'm amazed that I hear people getting them, I work on the inside of cingular, and it's as if I'm trying to rob the candy shop. Or if you belive everyone else's story, "they don't exist, we moved to the 64k and don't have anymore 32k Sims, "Anywhere", if you can assist, please leave you email, and I'll contact you there to arrange getting it to me.
Many Thanks!!!!

I'm not taking either side in this situation, but in my personal experience (since Sept 05) has been that Cingular CSRs and store personnel are poorly trained. âšī¸
I have examples, but I will spare you all the details other than to say that I got shipped a phone without it being activated; that the phone, when finally activated, was added to another person's account (so when I called for support they said I wasn't the owner and they refused to help me), that I was told to do a hard reset on the phone to recover deleted files on an MMC that was no longer in the phone, and that I watched a store employee cut *my* sometimes working DKU-2 cable in two before she knew she had a replacement (she didn't and had to take one out of the box of an...
