Voice Dial

I'm a little ticked that Cingular "stole" the voice dial key on this phone tying it to the Voice Signal software with only a 7 day free trial. I don't see any other way of voice dialing now. I read in another post, deleting the Voice Signal software restores the normal phone voice dial. Has anyone else found this to be true ?

Does seem I can activate the "speak now" regular Nokia voice dial from my bluetoth headset. It seems much slower to connect though. Perhaps because of the Voice Signal software.

OK, I am getting use to VoiceSignal. Seems pretty slick with voice commands to open any application, as well as voice dial. Wish the voice was a little louder though. Also, appears Nokia shhipped the phone with this ap, not Cingular add on. Nokia mentions it on their web site as being on the 6682 and 7160, I believe it was.

$14.99 one time charge.

When my trial expired, a prompt can on the screen and asked if I wanted to restore the original settings for the voice key and I chose yes.

When I used my Bluetooth headset, everything worked as it should with the built-in voice dialing.

Yeah, $15.

I am on day two of the trial. It is nice, not having to add voice tags and voice commands for apps. But I am concerned about the bluetooth headset. Mine doesn't seem to work the same with VoiceSignal on the phone. Haven't used it enough yet to tell for sure.

Aprout, when you say everything worked as it should... what kind of problems were you having ?

So saying "yes" removed VoiceSignal and restored original Nokia phone voice dialing and commands ? Which I was plenty happy with on my 6620. And I see VoiceSingal does not support the headset anyway. When I click the headset, I get the old "speak now" message.

You said your BT voice dial seemed slow.

Before my VoiceSignal trial ran out, I had recorded voice tags to a few contacts and when I pressed the mfb on my BT headset, it responed as it shoould, quickly and smoothly.

I have not removed the VoiceSignal app from the phone yet.

Yeah, when I first connect the BT HS to my phone, I first get the failed connection sound, then... with out having to do anything, it connects like 1 - 2 secs. later. Also, hitting the button to initiate voice dial, seems to take longer.

I was a little ticked about not having the voice dial key like my 6230 had. I deleted the Voice Signal software (thru the memory card icon) and it did restore the normal phone voice dial. 😉

I'm still undecided. I just found the VoiceSignal last night. Only had my phone since Monday.

Wondering, what is it about VoiceSignal you did not like ?

I used the bluetooth headset upon driving home today. It worked fine, same ole Nokia phone voice dial and normal volume. So it is still there and accessible via bluetooth.

What's nice about the VoiceSignal app is not having to record individual tags for each contact. Just recognizes it from the contact list name. Therefor, unlimitaed voice tags and one automatically for EVERY contact.
