This is a far better phone than the S710a.

As for release, I would mabye wait a while. This is likely to be Cingular's replacement for the 6620.

I would deffinitely wait. I have a 6620, and I would recommend that above the s710a. The s710a is the latest "gadget", but mostly fluff.
I really like the symbian os. You can do almost anything with it. So many great apps are available. Also, the s710a is limited to MemoryStick DUO, it can't use PRO, so you are very limited on memory. I have a 2gb mmc card for my 6620. No need to carry my ipod for short trips now.

I will deffinitely get the 6682 when it's released, but for now I love the 6620. I had the s710a, but for the price, all you get is a newer phone, no real features to speak of that any symbian device can provide.

I also wonder if Cingular will carry the 6682 becuase of the push-to-talk...

yes definately go with the 6682, I only wish that Cingular would carry a series 60 flip phone, because so many people dont like the nokias because they are big bar phones. I hope that panasonic releases a version of the x800 with the 850 mhz band in the near future.

I was under the impression that you could only get 512 mb in a RS-MMC card...at least thats the highest I can find.

1 GB is the RS-MMC - check out:

I'm using a KingMax 1GB MMC in my 6620. although I have seen 2GB is std. MMC. I'm not willing to pay that much yet.

Have you ever go beyond the entry page on this site? 🙂
I had, and I found that there is no quantity window for 1gb RS MMC on the order page 🙂

Check this guy out on e-bay, digi4me. Do a an advanced search so you can search by seller and type in digi4me. He's got the 1 GB cards and other sizes. They're a little pricy but they're compatible with Nokia phones and cheaper than the other places where I found them. He's got them for $62.95. Good luck!

But this phone does not take MMC......it takes RS-MMC...I'm pretty sure the maximum size on that is 512 mb. At least I've spent a few hours looking for more and 512 mb is the most I can find.

Check this guy out anyway, he says that "Digi4me-com is one of the largest memory product resellers." They should be able to help you better.

OHHHHHHHHHHH....i'm not trying to buy one. I was just helping the guy who asked the origional question by making the point that this phone can take up to 512 mb of removable memory and the s710a can only have like 128 mb.
