Voicemail Notification
Has anyone bought an unlocked V635 and used it on T-Mobile USA? I had to return mine because it would not receive the voicemail notification alert. I was told that it was becuase it was from Europe...but shouldn't an unlocked phone receive the upgraded voicemail notification?

I am learning more about this phone and I am now rethinking about purchasing. Apparently, to get the VoiceMail notification you have to edit the software of the phone, which is called SEEM. You have to download a software called p2k to edit. The Europe phones depending whether its from France or Germany. The Germans get their voicemail through SMS or text message, thats probably why your phone would not display any notification. So you see, if the phones were built here, then you would not have that problem. This is one thing ebay sellers dont mention. Yes the phone does work as far as receiving and making calls, but everything else, you have to work for. Check Howard Forums for more info.

My phone's from Rogers and the voicemail indicator works great. Try selling the model you have now and getting one with a different background.

I bought my V635 through TigerDirect. It's from Germany and the Voicemail works fine as is. No modification of any kind is required.

they all look like the are reliable so i will probably buy from one of them in the near future...just wondering if the voicemail notification wiLL work on these models...thanks

I am talking about T-Mobile new voicemail system not the old one which just sends a text message. The phone should display a special icon an data message from which you can directly access your voicemail. Are we still all talking about the same thing? My phone was from either Germany or Spain where they do not have this enhanced system which TMO is rolling out all over the U.S.

I had to send mine back. Most of these places have a 15% restocking fee! Be careful. You might want to try getting it from www.puremobile in Canada since Rogers Wireless up there has it.
