Like everyone else these days, i too am extremly excited about the V635 possibly coming to cingular. however, while doing some browsing around i went to some of the UK's websites to see how much the phones were going over there since they already have phones that we dont yet have here. and too my surprise the V635 over there on T-Mobile was free. along with other phones which here are upwards of 300. how is this possible? are the prices of the phones included in the monthly payments over there or does any one know?

just wondered. i never came across a thread that seemed to figure this out.

if you dont know what i mean here is the link to what im talking about

Competition, and the average cost of plans in Europe. There you get like 300 minutes for $60 a month. Yes, you do get free incoming minutes, but the person placing the call gets hit with a charge. So yes they can give away a free $300 phone and recoup it on the plan. They also sign 6 month contracts, too, which is peculiar. Yes there is comp. in the US, too, but the opposite......cheap phone with a lots of minutes.

Same thing with Canada. Their plans are expensive and you do not get very many minutes.

My answer does seem a little obsure, but you get the drift.
