I was in my local Verizon store on Tuesday and asked about the SCH i730. The rep said he did not know much about it but thought he had one in the store. He got it and took it out of the box. I looked at it and played with it while he tried to find it in the system. He fumbled around a bit and said the phone with NE2 was $599 and data plan discount was another $100 off. He said he also saw a note that said there could be another $100 off or more for the promo. He said he could sell me the phone but advised that I could save $100 if I wait two days so I did. Anyone heard of any promos? I did not see any on Verizons website today.

The Promo is only if you sign up for unlimited access. You get $100.00 off the phone price if you sign up for 3 months.

I bought the phone last week with the unlimited data plan. I received the NE2 discount but not the $100 data plan discount. Two different reps in different stores said you can't get both discounts. Has anyone heard anything different?

You heard correct. NE2 and the Advanced Device Promotion cannot be combined. To get the Advanced Device Promotion you also have to be eligible for an upgrade.

If you subscribe to the unlimted data plan $44.95/month) and get the $100 discount, how long do you need to remain subscribed? Is it like the voice plan where you enter into a one or two year agreement? Or can you subscribe, get the $100 discount and then reduce the data plan to a per kilobyte plan where you pay as you use it.

You must keep the plan for 3 months. There is no contract, but the discount will be reversed if you don't keep the plan for 3 months.
